It has been one hundred years since plague was brought from Kaffa to various ports across the Mediterranean world. The plague spread like wildfire, destroying every man, woman and child in its path and bringing civilization to its knees. As the dust clears, what is left is nothing but silence...

The Silent Continent is an alternate history mod that postulates what the world would look like if the Black Death wiped out a majority of the populations in Europe, The Middle East and North Africa. Right now, this means that these regions are uninhabited and ripe for eventual colonization.

However, I plan to also introduce nomadic survivor nations scattered across the map, as well as move the Hordes west to signify they are filling the vacuum. After this, I plan on providing an alternate path to 'Modernization', rather than Westernization, for the Old World nations, and a completely alternative path for the New World Nations that brings them into the High American tech group. Lastly, because the removal of the Western tech group, I plan on extending the timeline an additional 100 years, ending in 1921 rather than 1821.
