Dreadnought

The Dreadnought is the flag ship everyone wants to have leading their armada into battle!
This vessel boasts a fantastic multi level hangar bay, able to hold multiple different ships as well as a complement of seven standard fighters.
Boasting an impressive armament the Dreadnought is a ship to be feared. It has several large battle cannons and other assorted missle launchers and gattling guns to handle anything the enemy can throw at it.

When designing the ship i actually based it off a build i did back when space engineers first came out. The orginial Dreadnought was even bigger than this, but lacked a smart use of interior space. Asthetically the new version is easily superior. However it is also a lot more funtional. This new version has well made thick armour, as well as bulkheads and blast doors throughout the entire ship. This means it can handle a lot more damage in a battle than the old one could.

I also thought a lot more about the intended culture of the people who would have built such a ship. Its cathedral like interior with large main corridors and high ceilings (such as the engineering area) are echoing a grand race. This group in my mind is a race of humans who consider themselves above others. They are totally space dwelling and move in large fleets from one place to another. This group is feared greatly by others in the universe and the exterior of the ship is designed to look menacing to reflect this.

I have included maps for the different floors and levels in this design, i thought it would be easier than writing about all the different features. Please be aware when you enter the world that the hangar bay is open and has no oxygen. Before moving into the rest of the ship you can seal the hangar bay at one of the two control towers and then fill it with oxygen again. The main hangar doors can be opened and closed by accessing any computer station, it is at the top of the list.

As a bonus i have added in a design i've been playing around with a little. Its a swing wing long range fighter/bomber. You can find it on one of the main landing pads in the hangar bay.
