I like the idea behind the puzzle, but the tennis ball is unlocked so I can just drop that onto a switch to activate a placable electric motor to turn a threaded bobber connected to the explosive. Lock the tennis ball please. Here's a guide explaining why (under the "preventing shortcuts" section):
