The cold tundra of the north is renowned for two things; its unforgiving low temperatures, and its isolation. When Rylai was banished to the North, she found the wintry climate to be pleasing. The isolation however, was something her tender heart could never warm to.

The isolation of Icewrack affects all but the strongest that take residence there. The Ice Wizard who took Rylia in, was no exception. While the Wizard taught the ice maiden everything he could about the arcane arts, he couldn't comfort Rylia’s troubled emotions. Her heart constantly wept for the home she was driven away from, for the family who had disowned her, for the kingdom who had banished her, and for the sister who had betrayed her. Whenever she asked the gods for solace, only the cold ice and the howling winds would answer.

Over the years, her natural affinity to the cold would only grow. Even the Ice Wizard couldn’t match her elemental mastery. But as her powers grew, so did her resentment. The sadness she once felt was replaced by animosity. The harsh isolation of the north had claimed Rylia’s sprit, like it had claimed so many before her, and her frozen heart grew so cold that it split in two.

Now, in desperate times, the same kingdoms that had banished Rylai – have reluctantly called on her to help in their inevitable war against The Dire. And Rylia felt compelled to answer, not out of duty - but out of reprisal. Instead of receiving the banished wayward the kings had expected, they would receive a terrible ice queen - whose soul is as dark and as empty as the glaciers they had imprisoned her in. The Radiant will soon discover that the fiery and demonic aspects of The Dire are not as destructive and uncontrollable as Rylai’s discontent. And when she does reconnect with her past, the fury of her heart will be felt by every living thing, Radiant and Dire, for decades to come.
