Description
This mod adds the Acadia civilization led by Beausoleil to the game! Capital is Lafayette.


The Acadians are a cultural group of European colonists that settled in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia during the 17th century. Following many years of bloodshed and turmoil between the Acadian settlers and their British enemies, they were expelled and forced to find refuge in other parts of the world. Since then, the word Acadian has morphed into the word Cajun, whose culture now represents the Acadians living in southern Louisiana.


Unique Ability- Stella Maris: Lighthouses, Harbors and Seaports provide +2 Faith and are constructed in half the Usual amount of time. Coastal Cities get +10% Production.

Unique Unit- Goelette: Cheaper to produce than the Caravel, which it replaces. Can construct Fishing Boats without being destroyed and has double movement in shallow water.

Unique Unit- Mardis Gras: Replaces Great Musician. +150 Tourism to all known Civilizations when one is born. May cross closed borders and create unique Courir de Mardis Gras.

Addl play note. Game continues. Mardi Gras #6 (purchased with Faith) did move and gave tourism. #7 from Broadway crashed BUT on restart before move and with airports in place, did move from one city to another and then it could move on its own. Strange and unpredictable behavior. Hope it give a clue about what might be wrong.

Sadly, confirm problems with Mardi Gras. During my game, 1st operated as stated, 3rd permitted creation of unique GW. Number 2,4,5 crashed the game when movement attempted and did not allow GW. To continue game had to be deleted. Obviously cannot allow AI to play Acadia since it will always crash the game upon movement. Nice concept but unplayable as is. A pity since the Goelette is fantastic.

Great mod! Love it. However, having an issue with the Mardi Gras unit. The first one worked great. The second one did not have the option to create a Great Work, even though the city it was born in had an empty Music slot. I tried moving it out of the city, still couldn't create a Great Work. OK, thinks I, let's send it to another civ and get the boost to Tourism. Tried moving it, game crashed. Reloaded the game, tried moving it, game crashed. Reloaded the turn it was born, it went to the other civ and got the bonus fine.

The third Mardi Gras, I tried sending it to another civ, and it gets there OK, but when I try to disembark (the other civ is across the ocean), the game crashes. Other than the issues with the Mardi Gras unit, this is a great idea for a mod, absolutely.

Whatever errors were in this game regarding the Mardis Gras, I seem to have tested them out by giving them their own unique "great musics."

The game crashed one turn after my first Mardi Gras unit was created. might not be related to your mod but thought I would let you know. No biggie.
