Since I started playing ETS2 I got the problem that my game randomly "crashed", by going to a black screen, while the game itself would continue to run (I could steer my truck (also without knowing where to), go into the menu by hitting ESC and hear the ingame sounds). Curiously enough my internet browser also crashed every time the game did. I had no mods installed, the graphics driver (Nvidia) was up to date, it didn't matter if i used DirectX or OpenGL mode and every other game worked properly. When i looked into the game.log.txt there would be the following Error: "<ERROR> [dx9] Present failed. [0x88760874]" when the black screen appeared.

Disclaimer: make sure you meet the minimum system requirements for the game; make sure you did try the newest graphics driver as well as one from a while back to see if this solves your problem; make sure the problem isn't related to installed mods; if other games crash too it could be a hardware failure; I am not reponsible for changes you make to the registry of your OS and consequential problems

Solution: give the graphics card more time to respond

How-to:

• open up the registry (windows key + r -> "regedit" -> OK)
  
• go to the following path "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers"
  
• create the following new object at this location (right mouse button)
  "DWORD (32-bit)" -> name it "TdrDelay" -> assign it a value of "10" (decimal)
  
• close the registry
  
• restart your system

Seit ich ETS2 spiele hatte ich das Problem, dass das Spiel in unregelmäßigen Abständen mit einem schwarzen Bildschirm "abstürzt". Dabei läuft das Spiel im Hintergrund weiter (ich kann meinen LKW weiter steuern (wenn ich auch nicht sehen kann wohin), ich kann in das Spielmenu gehen über ESC, ich höre die Geräusche des Spiel). Interessanterweise verursachte dies auch einen Absturz meines Internet Browsers. Ich hatte keine Mods installiert, der Grafikkartentreiber (Nvidia) war aktuell, es hat keinen Unterschied gemacht ob ich das Spiel im DirectX oder OpenGL Modus gestartet habe und jedes andere Spiel lief normal. Als ich in die game.log.txt geschaut habe war dort der folgende Fehler zu finden: "<ERROR> [dx9] Present failed. [0x88760874]" welcher mit dem schwarzen Bildschirm auftrat.

Haftungsausschluss: stellt sicher das ihr die minimalen Systemvoraussetzungen des Spiels erfüllt; stellt sicher das ihr sowohl den neusten als auch einen etwas älteren Grafiktreiber probiert habt um zu sehen ob sich das Problem dadurch lösen lässt; stellt sicher dass das Problem nicht mit installierten Mods im Zusammenhang steht; wenn auch andere Spiele abstürzen könnte es sich um einen Hardware Defekt handeln; Ich bin nicht verantwortlich für Änderungen die ihr an der Registrierung (im folgenden Registry) vornehmt und daraus resultierende Probleme

Lösung: die Reaktionszeit der Grafikkarte erhöhen

Anleitung:

• öffnet die Registry (Windows Taste + R -> "regedit" -> OK)
  
• zu folgendem Pfad gehen: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers"
  
• an dieser Stelle das folgende neue Objekt erstellen (rechte Maustaste)
  "DWORD (32-bit)" -> benenne es "TdrDelay" -> weise ihm den Wert "10" (DEZIMAL) zu
  
• schließt die Registry
  
• startet euren PC neu

Hey, i have the same problem, all what i make will not help for me. Now i have installed amd-catalyst-15.7.1-sb-sata-ahci-win10-win8.1-win7 and i can Play without any Freezes or Crashes. Hope it will help you too.

Hallo, ich habe das gleiche Problem gehabt, und egal ob TdrDelay oder oder, wollte nicht helfen. Dann habe ich amd-catalyst-15.7.1-sb-sata-ahci-win10-win8.1-win7 installiert und es funktioniert einwandfrei, wobei ich eine Nvidia Karte benutze. einfach mit installieren und testen.

Not help.Stil have freez and black screen. What is strange temperatur of my graphic card stil groving up! I change down resolution and detail and still "temp" is groving. Slower, but its growing. In other game my gtx is hot up to 80 'C and games dont crash, but in ETS2, gtx is about 70-75 about 2-3 minutes and then game freez.

Ok so far it seems to be working fine, I'll do some tests later today or tomorrow after re-installing at least the PhysX software which is needed for most of my other games.

Uninstall everything from Nvidia except the graphics driver. If that fixes it then try to install the PhysX Software and so on.

Alright, I'll give that a go. I also did a clean install of the latest Nvidia drivers from the Nvidia website. Out of all the software from Nvidia, which ones would you recommend uninstalling? I've got Nvidia 3D Vision Controller Driver 352.65, Nvidia 3D Vision Driver 352.65, Nvidia HD Audio Driver 1.3.34.3., Nvidia PhysX (Legacy), and Nvidia PhysX System Software 9.15.0428. I already uninstalled the GeForce Experiance.

If you have an Nvidia graphic card make sure to uninstall all additional software that comes with the driver Installer (foremost the Geforce Experience Software), then try again.
