ETS2 Ultimate Achievement Guide (including lazy methods)

This aims to be most complete and thorough full guide for every single steam achievement in Euro Tuck Simulator 2.

Introduction

As title says, I want this guide to be perfect and very detailed. Be prepared for wall of text and crazy amount of images.
Almost every achievement can be obtained several ways including cheating, so this guide also includes fast and unethic methods for lazy players. You will find them at bottom. This Guide uses deafault key binding for English version, if you are experienced enough to change binding you probably don't need this guide ...


Written and tested with vanilla ETS2 ver. 1.15.1.1, no mods or DLC when possible
May contain ideas, mods or save games from other players - I'm not stealing their work so whenever possible I give them respected credit.

There are 28 Achievements total in the game. Developers sorted them into four categories:

• Easy - 8 - pretty much everyone would achieve those and so quickly notice the achievement feature, that's how easy it is ;)
  
• Medium - 8 - not all achievements get unlocked quickly, but none of those should be a problem for any user
  
• Hard - 11 - certain degree of patience and dedication is required to track and complete those. However the truckers are patient people and we have all confidence in them.
  
• Extreme - 1 - thats for the most hardcore, never to give up types that drive through the world of Euro Truck Simulator 2

Achievements in this guide are sorted by rarity from most common to rarest as displayed on Steam Global Gameplay Stats page as of 24.12.2014.

1. Friends are always here to help you (Use automatic parking) <Easy>

This achievement is very easy and can be obtained in the end of your very first training mission. All you need to do is hit [Enter] in close aproximity of final destination of your cargo when appropriate message appears on your GPS device. Your trailer will be teleported to location and you will get your reward in form of money, XP and achievement.

2. Diesel, no petrol! (Use a filling station) <Easy>

Another easy achievement. Gas stations are pretty much everywhere outside of cities and can be seen on map with typical green-white icon.



If you want to play Euro Truck simulator 2 as intended you will need to fill your tank from time to time. Locate nearest gas station,


stop your truck right at the spot of canister icon, turn off engine by [E]


then hold [Enter] until your tank is full or you reached the amount you wanted to fill.

3. Zzzzz (Use a rest stop) <easy>

Rest stops are places where you can sleep in case you are "tired" and have been driving for too long.

Developers were kind of benevolent when they let us drive for 11 hours and rest for 9 hours only.

Rest stops can be found almost everywhere and are more common than gas stations as you can also find them inside cities. It features blue-white icon with bed picture on map.



You basically use them same as gas stations. Locate it, stop your truck at right spot until message appears,



shut down engine by [E] and press [Enter] to sleep for fixed time of 9 hours (you are not able to change the length of rest).

4. Sardine (Utilize a boat) <easy>

Gets unlocked when you board a ferry and use it to cross water channel between Europe and Great Britain. Port locations are marked on map by blue-white icon featuring anchor



and you can find them only near those cities:

Amsterdam (Netherlands)
Calais (France)
Dover (Great Britain)
Felixstowe (Great Britain)
Grimsby (Great Britain)
Newcastle-upon-Tyne (Great Britain)
Rotterdam (Netherlands)



To ulock. Find a port, drive your truck right at green rotating anchor icon, hit [Enter], choose your destination and click "Embark" button.

5. Choo-Choo (Use the train to cross channel) <easy>

This achievement is almost same as sardine one, but instead of boat you need to travel across "La Manche" English channel using underground train tunnel. Its eurpoean entrance is located near Calais (France) and british entrance is located near Dover. Principle of using is same as with ferry. Locate it on map looking for grey-white icon resembling tunnel.



Drive through green-light open gate, pass down hill to train carriage and stop your truck right above rotating 3D green icon of tunnel.




Press [Enter], choose only available route and click "Embark" button. You have earned your achievement.

6. Honey, I'm home (Use quick travel to return to your headquarters) <easy>

In order to gain this achievement you need to own at least one truck and one garage, otherwise this option will be disabled. Quit to main menu, click "Company Manager" button,



click "Garage Mananger" button and choose your main garage - your headquarters that you choosed when creating profile.



Then cilck "Quick travel" and you will be transfered to your main garage.



In case you have many garages already and you don't remember which one is you headquarters, just click "Map view" - your main garage will have small spikes around its icon.

7. From the comfort of your home (Buy a truck online) <easy>

Although marked as easy by developers it will take you some real life 20+ hours to be able to complete it. Conditions you need to meet:
- Discover at least one truck dealership on world map by driving close to it.
- Own at least five trucks (any brand or model)
- Own enough garages so you have at least one truck slot free
- Have enough money to buy another new truck

If you meet those conditions, particulary owning five trucks, you have unlocked "Buy online" feature in your truck dealers manager. From main menu click "truck dealers",



select desired dealer you want to purchase from, click "Buy online" button,



choose truck of your like and purchase it. That's it.

8. My precious (Design and apply to your truck a custom multi-color metallic paint) <easy>

You don't need to own "Metallic Paint Jobs Pack" DLC in order to unlock this achievement. You can apply custom colors only to trucks you own. It can be done either by driving at service shop or from the comfort of chair through company manager ,



then truck manager



and paint icon will open all available colours and schemes.



Choose "custom metallic paint", fiddle with color slider a bit and purchase it.



Bingo another achievemnet.

9. Careerist (Complete 5 jobs in a row - in-time, without taking any damage to cargo and without using autoparking) <hard>

Description is self-explanatory. You need to take a job, deliver it without being late, with 0% of damage and you have to park it manually.
This scheme you must apply five times in row. I recommend to make frequent new saves. You can get tickets for speeding or red lights it doesn't matter but crash the trailer and you are screwed, need to load previous save. If I remember right those jobs can be also obtained as "Quick jobs" so if you know you are bad driver, sort your job offer by route length and pick those short 1km deliveries inside city across the road.



Just remember to check all requirements before hitting [T] to unload cargo, otherwise you are going to start five in row again.

10. Minimaxer (Gain 20,000 XP for several consecutive jobs with the total distance below 10,000 km) <hard>

This is one of the creepiest achievements in game since you have to very carefully calculate distance vs. XP gain for very long distance and time but you dont have any indication of its progess. Some truckers will earn it casually playing game without the intent to do this achievement yet some are having hard time and are unsuccesfull for long period of time. To be succesfull you need to have all ADR skills unlocked, at least level 1 "long distance", at least level 1 "fragile cargo" and at least level 2 "just-in-time delivery". You list your "quick jobs" as price per distance/ADR only and search for combination of ADR + fragile (yellow glass) + long distance (>250km) + urgent (three red arrows).




No free roaming without cargo, you better not use "quick travel" to your other garages between jobs and you absolutely have to park every cargo manually in its final destination. Again do frequent saves and try to have 0% damage at trailer, your truck however could be damaged 100% as damage penalty is calculated only from cargo trailer.

11. National company (Own a garage in every city in your headquarter country) <medium>

Easier said than done :)) Involves lots of driving, money and nerves if you placed your headquarters in Germany or Great Britain during character building. But if you were lucky enough and placed your garage in Luxembourg... you got this achievement instantly. In current version of game you can fortunatelly relocate your headquarters to Luxembourg to earn this achievement easily. First you have to discover it and buy it for 180 000EUR. Then you can open "Company manager",

12. I am a GPS (Discover more than 60% of the map) <medium>

This one is quite easy but takes lots of time. Expect to see it unlocked at 50 to 100 Real-time hours invested in the game, no earlier. In top left corner of map you can see your progress at discovering new roads, cities, factories, dealerships, garages, service stations and other game objects.



Once discovered it will turn yellow, not yet discovered is gray. Remember that everything counts towards % increasment including hotels and bus stations. 13. Swimming in success (Reach an average daily profit of €450,000) <hard>

Another one achievement involving tens or hundreds of real time hours spent in game. You have to own lots of garages, in those garages you need to have lots of high level employees together with lots of powerful trucks. They all (including you because your earnings are added too) have to work like slaves and earn daily at least 450 000EUR to unlock this hard achievement. You can check your daily profit ingame by going "company manager"



and "garage manager".



There are some statistics about your company but the last one called "average daily profit" is the one connected with achievement trigger.

14. Job is only worth it if it's done well! (Complete a perfect delivery ...) <medium>

(Complete a perfect delivery (no damage, no fines, in-time) for a job that is at least 1000 km)


As an experienced driver I consider this one easy but currently it is in middle of steam chart with only 3,1% players having this achievement. It should be your daily bread to deliver 0% damage cargo in-time to its final destination over long distances. I know that speeding tickets are hard to avoid while driving 130kmh but you can always turn your limiter on and drive 90kmh as intended. Watch your GPS for speed signs and drive according to them. In order to pick a job over 1000km your skill "long distance" should be at least Rank 4.



Click "freight market" or "quick job", sort your table by route length and choose one that has "land distance" over 1000km (ferry and train distance does not count towards achievement). If you know you drive slowly pick those with one green arrow marked as "standard delivery".



Avoid speeding, red lights, crashing AI traffic, crashing barriers, lamp posts, driving without lights or too long time behing wheel (rest enough). As usual make frequent saves and load immedately after your cargo was damaged (see [F7] GPS screen) truck damage is not important.



also don't forget to watch your delivery time window (see [F6] GPS)



and compare it to estimated time of arrival ETA on [F5] GPS screen.



At final destination you can use auto parking feature to release some stress.

15. All is possible (Take and complete jobs with at least 30 different cargo) <hard>

It is marked as hard for a reason. You need to track cargo types for yourself for a long period of time. Every job you take has cargo type specified as ilustrated in image.



There are many different types of it in base game and even more if you are using DLCs or mods. In base game there are currently 94 different cargo types defined inside game files. Best and most reliable method is to print this chart I created and manually write down every job you pick up and tick off when delivered. Good old RPG style gaming in 2014...

You can smash the trailer, get fined or use autoparking but you must not arrive late. "Freight market" or "Quick job" - both choices are possible. Every game profile you create is counted separately so choose only one you want this achievement earn with. After every new patch released or DLC installed there is some possibility to have your progress either erased or reduced because it is stored at your PC inside your save game file. Successfully unlocked achievement is permanently stored on steam servers.

16. Performance optimizer (Achieve at least 75% of the average garage productivity for 10 large garages in your company) <hard>

If you aim to complete "13.Swimming in success" achievement you certainly will earn this one also with little more effort. It is again end game achievement for players with 100+ real-life hour counter. Decription is simple you need to own at least 10 fully upgraded garages stuffed with experienced drivers (LVL 8+) and corresponding trucks.



They have to work so hard that garage productivity is more than 75% for top ten best earning garages. You can check your progress by sorting it for productivity. First ten lines have to be above 75% and it need to be large garages.



You can use quick travel between two distant garages to speed up time and earn some money or level up your employees.

17. Reliable contractor (Perform jobs for at least 15 different companies in the game) <hard>

This achievement falls into same category as "15. All is possibble" but instead of cargo you have to keep track of companies you work for. There are 19 companies in basic game without any mod or DLC. Here they are sorted in alphabetical order:

Note that Kaarfor and Sellplan are delivery only as you are not able to pick up jobs at their location. Those two companies do not count towards achievement unlock. Only company you pick up your job counts, it is displayed on left of your job offer.



Again you can choose "Quick job" or "Freight market", you can damage cargo, be fined but you are not allowed to be late at delivery. I have made another chart to be able to write down companies I have worked for. Print it and use it to tick off. Every game profile you create is counted separately so choose only one you want this achievement earn with.

18. Long hauler (Complete a delivery that was greater than 2,000 km) <medium>

As simple as it could be. You have to deliver cargo that is listed as over 2000km land distance at your job list (2001km is enough)note that ferry/train distance does not count. Sort it by Route length from highest to lowest.



You can use either "Freight Market" or "Quick Job" but be advised that through "quick job" you could be assigned with heavy cargo trailer and crazy low power truck. Driving this combo across whole Europe.... thanks, but no thanks....
You are allowed to destroy your cargo, be late, get traffic fines, use autoparking etc... and still earn achievement.

"Going East!" DLC needed in order to have such long delivery offered. Without this DLC maximum possible job offer is somewhere around 1900km. You need to have "long distance" skill Rank 6 (maxed out) unlocked of course.



If you are not able to buy or obtain "Going east!" DLC then you can use workaround and download some huge Map mod created by modder community. In those maps 2000km distance is laughably short job because some of them are 4000km and more across.

Just use google. eg. "ETS2 Russia map" or "ETS2 Trucksim Map".

19. Successfully docked (Use all ports in the game (counts sea and train ports)) <hard>

You are required to use every ferry port and every train station on world map. There are 7 ports and 2 train stations total. Only the place where you start you travel counts. For example you have to use Calais > Dover train carriage but also use it to travel back from Dover > Calais. Follow detailed instructions from "4.Sardine" and "5.Choo-Choo" achievements above in this guide.

20. Working with the elite (Achieve 100% of productivity for at least 5 large garages at the same time) <hard>

Last week productivity 100% for at least 5 large garages. What do you want to hear? ...Fairy tales?

 "You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes."

Red pill anyone?

Five powerful trucks combined with five fully skilled LVL10 drivers stuffed into fully upgraded garage. Multiply it by 5 and you have earned this achievement.

21. Experience beats all! (Complete deliveries with all trailer types ...) <medium>

Complete deliveries with all trailer types (Machinery, ADR cargo, Container, Refrigerated, Liquid cargo, Fragile cargo, Construction, Bulk cargo)

Medium difficulty, deliver any cargo with 8 types of trailers? I would mark it as easy but who cares. Choose one of trailer type in drop down menu from job list, pick it up and deliver it - simple in current version of game. It would have been nightmare in past because no such scroll down menu existed !



Quick job, Freight market, when, how, under what conditions you arrive is up to you. Make sure you attemp to unlock it through one profile only, as with every other achievement it is synchronized individually based on game profile loaded.

I was able to unlock it in 20 minutes real time - pick up "quick job" around 1km, deliver with autopraking, quick travel to distant garage to refresh job list and pick another one 1km job with different cargo type.

22. Head hunter (Discover all recruitment agencies) <hard>

Drive around map to discover all recruitment agencies placed by developers. Time consuming none the less. Agencies are located only inside cities so it is a bit easier to find them, not every city in game has recruitment agency though. Here I made a list of cities with their location.

24. Just in time! (Take an urgent delivery for a minimum of 550 km and complete it with less than 30 minutes remaining) <medium>

In order to qualify you have to find job listed as "Land distance" (or "Trip distance") over 550km. Job has to be listed as "Urgent delivery" also, this is marked by three red arrows. Ferry/train distance is not important and does not add up to route length required. It is not important whether you use your own truck through "Freight market" or let yourself hire in "Quick job". You need to be skilled enough also to have it offered . "Long distance" Rank 3 at least, "Just-in-time" rank 2 minimum.



Find suitable offer, load your cargo and drive towards your destiantion. Try to arrive as fast as possible - better be safe than sorry. Forget about damage or tickets it is not required to arrive with 0% damage. Heck even 100% trailer damage is acceptable :) When you arrive check your remaining time to delivery at [F6] GPS screen.



Line "time remaining" is connected with achievement trigger. If you have 29 minutes or less displayed, congratulation, you can freely park trailer and unlock your "just in time!" reward. If you have more than 29 minutes displayed save a game now.

There are few options how to speed up time

• Go sight seeing or discovering map, you can leave your trailer at company park place and return back when appropriate. Time inside city is passing lot more slower than outside of it, don't be scared!
  
• Sleep at rest stop - be careful, it is always fixed time 9 hours.

In every city there is one garage available to purchase for 180 000EUR. There are 72 cities in base game, 85 cities with "Going East!" DLC. You've got one garage for free when building character. To buy all garages possible you can do the math:

26. Test drive limited (Drive at least 999 km during jobs with each truck brand featured in the game...) <medium>

Drive at least 999 km during jobs with each truck brand featured in the game. Only your owned trucks are counted. (MAN, DAF, Majestic, Renault, Iveco, Scania, Volvo)


Simple - buy a truck, pick up job in "Freight market", deliver it to destination. Make some more jobs until you see "Test drive limited" 1/7 achievement unlocked. Repeat 6 more times for every truck brand in game. Progress is stored inside your profile save. Distance is written down the moment you deliver your cargo and achievement trigger is based on cumulative value of "driven distance" as marked in image.



As usual you can damage cargo, get tickets or use autoparking but you are not allowed to be late because late deliveries are not added to stored distance trigger.
Note: After you load older save your achievement mileage counter may decrease its value.

27. Profit hunter (Complete a job worth over €130,000 and minimum 2,200 km) <medium>

Although marked as medium difficulty by developers it is second rarest achievement on steam chart. In order to succesfully unlock this achievement you have to own "Going East" DLC, otherwise you have zero chance to see job meeting specific criteria. Even with DLC installed there is low probability to find it. You are looking for job that is listed over 130 000EUR reward for delivery and calculated land distance is over 2200km. Ferry or train distance is not used as base value.

You cannot find such reward in "quick job" section your only option is to use "freight market". This type of job is usually loaded in Hungary and delivered to Great Britain (or vice versa) so it is wise to own garages in Debrecen, Budapest or Kosice and garages around Cardiff or Manchester. To obtain this job you open "freight market", sort it from highest price first and look for one over 130000EUR while also listed as over 2200km land distance.

You have low probability to see it matched. If you can't find it, then you have to open garage manager and quick travel to any garage far away so travel will take you at least 16 hours. As you arrive open "freight market" again and look for right job, if not succesful repeat quick travel until you find one that suits.



Lets assume you were lucky enough and found a suitable job in Debrecen(HUN) BUT you are currently in Plymouth(GB) some 2000km apart and quick traveling would make it disappear from list. You open your driver manager, find your character and click "relocate", search map for Debrecen and use it as your new headquarters. This way you are instantly teleported there instead of long time way through "quick travel" . Then you are able to highlight it on GPS, drive toward loading dock and pick up desired job.

The moment you attach the trailer you basically won your achievement because you can get speeding tickets, damage cargo beyond recognition or use autopark at final destination and you still unlock it at delivery. Look at this example of late delivered, completely destroyed fragile yacht driven from Cardiff to Debrecen - 0EUR earned 0XP gained and "profit hunter" still unlocked.

28. Pathfinder (Discover 100% of the map) <extreme>

This is in essence an expansion of "I am a GPS" achievement. You are foced to turn every milimeter of road and every game object in Euro Truck Simulator 2 map from grey to yellow colour to achieve 100.00% map explored. Nothing more nothing less. It is for hardcore players and you can expect some 100+ real hours in front of PC to unlock it.



Don't forget to disable any extending map mods as the percentage is calculated from your active world area.

You definitely can get "long hauler" achievement withought "Going East!" or any other DLC that extends map size.
I just got it for hauling from Glasgow to Salzburg.
No mods/custom maps/cheats used, just the base game.

you can finish this achievement, but you only have to have a basic version of the game without DLC
it will certainly make it easier for you to unlock this achievement
You're right it's pretty annoying when you want to accomplish this task
I fortunately unlocked this achievement in time: D before the arrival of DLC as France, Italy.
I wanted to see these maps at 100%, but after this change, the game doesn't bother me anymore when you have to literally drive every meter on the map

I just wanna note that you can fail the Profit Hunter achievement after starting the job. I started a job that had more than 2200 KM land distance but on the way I accidently ran out of fuel and had to call for service to be towed to the nearest city, which cut down on my travel distance and thus no achievement reward when arriving at my destination. Another way to fail it is to take a longer ferry than the one specified, for example taking the ferry directly to Bergen instead of Kristiansand (the GPS told me to do the latter) or vice versa.

I have discoverd the entire map (100%) including going east-scadinavia dlc's, I have delevered more of 700 jobs and I haven't achieve the 19 (succesfully docked). Is this reasonable??
