Pax Americana | A United States Expansion

Description
A House Undone: The American Collapse
The year is 1936. The Great Depression has hollowed out the American Dream, unemployment grips the nation, and faith in Washington dwindles by the day. From the dusty towns of the Midwest to the crowded tenements of the coasts, a storm is gathering. Armed factions grow bolder, demagogues louder, and regional leaders whisper of secession. The old order is cracking—and what replaces it may be something utterly unrecognizable.

This mod completely overhauls the United States in Hearts of Iron IV, transforming it from a passive world power into a volatile crucible of ideology, rebellion, and power politics. With extensive custom focus trees, flavor events, speeches, and faction mechanics, players will shape the future of a nation on the brink of total collapse. Whether through war, reform, revolution, or tyranny—America will be reborn. But into what?

The Union Fractured: Competing Paths to Power
  • The American Constitutional Government
Hold the republic together through fire and conviction. Choose between the Democrats or Republicans as you attempt to weather the storm of civil discontent, economic ruin, and extremism. Enact sweeping reforms or double down on the old ways—but beware: even the presidency may not save the Union.

  • The United Socialist States of America
The working class rises under the red banner of the CPUSA. The revolution will not be televised—it will be fought block by block. Overthrow capitalism, destroy reactionary institutions, and forge a socialist America aligned with the global communist movement, or break from Moscow and forge your own red doctrine.

  • The American Fascist Union
Not all fascism is born in Europe. This native movement worships the legacy of George Washington as a god-king and seeks to rebuild the nation in his sanctified image. Under the banner of the American Fascist Union, the republic is dissolved into a zealous, theocratic empire where every citizen is a soldier, and every soldier a disciple.

  • The Christian Party
Led by William Dudley Pelley, the Christian Party merges American mysticism, fascist corporatism, and religious authoritarianism. Guided by divine mission, this movement offers bread, order, and salvation—but only to the faithful. Will the righteous inherit the earth, or merely trade liberty for spiritual chains?

  • The American Nazi Party
Under George Lincoln Rockwell, a fanatical ideology finds new life in American soil. With support from radical paramilitaries and foreign backers, this movement offers an iron-fisted vision of "national renewal" rooted in persecution, militarism, and the dream of empire.

  • The Military Junta
When politicians fail and ideologies clash, the generals step in. Led by Douglas MacArthur, the armed forces can impose martial law and reconstruct the nation by sword and salute. But the American spirit is not easily caged—can a junta survive long enough to restore stability?

  • The Confederate States of America
The old South rises again. In a renewed secessionist movement, hardline traditionalists declare independence. Under figures like Theodore G. Bilbo, they seek an agrarian state built upon heritage and hierarchy. Will the stars and bars fly once more?

  • Texas & Louisiana Independence Paths
In the chaos, ambitious governors of Texas and Louisiana forge their own paths. As sovereign states, they pursue opportunism and independence. Oil, industry, and geography grant them strength—but will it be enough?

  • New England Territories
When America burns, the Northeast remembers the Crown as loyalists in New England look across the Atlantic for salvation. Should the United Kingdom accept, an absolute monarchy may rise on American soil—armed with industry, tradition, and a royal banner.

Civil War Mechanics & Alternate Histories
Civil war is no longer a single binary outcome. The United States may fracture into seven separate nations depending on your choices. From Marxist insurgencies in the Rust Belt to Confederate flags in the Deep South, the fate of the nation is determined not just by ideology, but by region, history, and crisis.

The dynamic civil war system allows for total player agency. Fight to preserve the Union—or be the one to break it.

@LAZ No worries. I'm here to help fans when they need it. Try running just Pax Americana and it's two prerequisites (L’Empire Éternel & Mister Burke's Framework & Utilities)

I'd also add that some of the states need a resource rework, to give each side a better chance against each other. The American Army Command has all the tungsten and chromium, and the Confederacy has all it's steel in Tennessee, and the only other state to have any resources is Arkansas who has a little aluminum.

Very cool way of dividing the US into different nations. I like it a lot. The focus tree for the Confederacy is pretty well thought out, but the other ones need some work.

Here's some things I have to report:
Texas has no focus to get rid of, or change these 3 negative National Spirits: Civil Rights Movement, Race Riots, and Jim Crow,
Also Texas starts with 0 stability and no generals or admirals( so does Louisiana and the Confederacy).
Also all the non-original USA nations start with no weapons stockpiled
Texas, Louisiana and the Confederacy also starts with no military factories to make weapons.
The original USA keeps all the generals and admirals as well as the entire navy and airforce.

Some of these are quite nonviable or game breaking. However, the mod just came out, so I presume it'll be worked on to smooth things out.

Very cool mod.
I'll be eagerly following the mod, and I look forward to playing it after it's had a little more work.
