Really Good Mod so far, i have noticed some of the industrial focuses add things to a state in india for some reason, other than that great job, i hope you keep updating this

@jamcarmody While certainly you'd have a hard if not impossible time getting Catholic Ireland enforcing state atheism as Stalin did, they also don't HAVE to be in full alignment with the soviet union.
There are catholic communisms, there are other christian communisms. Fidel Castro was a staunch Catholic and Cuba remains a largely practicing Catholic nation. You've got doris day and the christian workers and all that.

Given the geographical distance, I think if Ireland were to become a christian socialist nation and to join with the comintern it is reasonable to think of it as having less direct soviet interference. THey're not going to be forced to crow on about kulaks or social fascists or to help the soviets repress ukraine or the caucuses.

Either that, or, Ireland could go communist in a way that is anti soviet. Either trotskyite or even aligning with the ancom type communism available for spain and ethiopia.

Honestly, though, think this one through: to get the Irish to side with Stalin of all people: that psycho in the Kremlin at that time would have to make good on a LOT of promises- to even have a half a hope of doing so.
Frankly, he'd have higher odds of recruiting Franco's *Spain* than Ireland, and that's going to be within the easy living memory of the citizens, who watched an overt *invasion* by a terrorist faction he'd sent into their *country*; seriously; that'd be *quite* the diplomatic coup!
Though, thinking it through, if he could; that former seminarian gone bad who was running the USSR at the time would likely use Ireland as a bit of a diplomatic experiment of sorts.... to claim "See, I told you it'd work to combine two things that cannot be mixed." or something along those lines.

I mean, think about it; to the Irish, the IRA, say what you will of them, were darn-near completely unreliable in terms of politics and were basically genocidal; seeing how much historical intermarrying (and I do mean legitimately in the views of the predominant religious creed sets in the region of the "British Isles"- including Ireland), think this one through: to the average Irishman; these guys may well be out to kill your inlaws, however really questionable the relationship *is*, that's something you do not want to invoke, no matter what!

I'm not saying that the Irish wouldn't take advantage of the opportunity to work over England to their favor- to make that claim, you'd have to be fully incompetent: those two groups hate eachother way more than anybody would want to invision, but the Reds?! Those guys would NEVER be accepted, no way!
Weirdly, the Nazis, somewhat would be only slightly *more* tolerable than the Marxists, and that's not saying much beyond that neither would be tolerable- weirdly enough, the Irish (and I have some rather *direct* grasp of their psyche) would be most probable to find an ally in the USA of all factions!

Interesting premise, but seeing as what the USSR really *was up to*, and overtly at that time no less: there was less than NO possibility of the Irish uniting with the *Soviets* of all factions; their conflicts went deep, and also had, ironically, a *theological* dimension thereof that was simply nonnegotiable!
Think of it, the Irish, like the Poles, were really predominantly *Catholic* and as for the Soviets, their *official religion* was a true perversion known as *Marxism*, to the point that the two would NEVER get along!

The mod is fine but i have a problem with mobilization, i start with less manpower than i'm supposed, in fact i looked at the population and it said that i was using a little part of the manpower avaible then i tried to mobileze but it only mobilezed a little part of the population.
