Description
A militia ready to stand against any foe, for the Empire and their homes!

Enhance your campaigns with an expanded roster of Free Company Militia, versatile and thematic units that embody the resilience of Imperial townsfolk and some notable regiments from the Times-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named. From humble spearmen to defiant curs that fight where disciplined men would falter, this mod adds depth and variety to your forces while staying true to the spirit of the Empire.

New Units:
  • Free Company Militia (Spearmen): A militia armed with spears, offering a defensive option among the ranks of Free Company Militia.
  • ROR Talabheim Curs (Free Company Militia - Spear & Shield): A defiant and hardy regiment, their bonuses grow stronger the longer they remain in combat, never succumbing to disheartenment.
  • Free Company Militia (Duelist): Agile and aggressive, these militia wield dual swords, trading defense for attack prowess.
  • ROR Sewerjacks (Free Company Militia - Duelist): Anti-Skaven specialists wielding rusted and poisoned weapons, spreading debuffs to enemies while carrying macabre trophies of their foes.
  • ROR Vengeful Blades (Free Company Militia - Sword & Shield): Gain defensive and offensive buffs in stages, embodying their craving for vengeance on the battlefield.
  • Free Company Militia (Scouts): A fast cavalry unit, perfect for harassing the enemy and supporting infantry engagements when faced with beasts and horsemen alike.

Renamed Units:
  • Free Company Militia (Pistoliers)
  • Stirland's Revenge (Free Company Militia - Pistoliers)

Base Game Changes:
  • FCM Pistoliers, Sartosa and Stirland's Revenge can fire behind while on the move.
  • Adjustments to align base game unit stats (FCM, Sartosa) with the expanded roster. Pistoliers have less men, and less range, weaker in melee, shoot slower, but have slightly better projectiles. They remain a powerful unit. Duelists have slightly lower stats.

New Passive System:
  • Bravado (Above 75% HP)
Provides +10% to all key stats, including speed, charge, morale, melee, missile damage, and accuracy.
  • Disheartened (Below 50% HP)
Units lose twice the bonuses they received, emphasizing their lack of discipline and irregular nature.
  • Talabheim Curs Special Mechanic
Never lose Bravado and instead grow stronger the longer they stay in combat.
  • Vengeful Blades Special Mechanic
Gain stage-based buffs in defensive and offensive power as they fight (and lose), rewarding aggressive use against stronger foes.

Garrison:
  • For each level of Inns built in region, the town under siege will receive one FCM unit. Which one you ask? Well download and try it :D.

Designed For players who enjoy versatile, thematic Empire armies and want more tactical options for irregular troops.

Compatibility:
  • Compatible with vanilla and just about any mod. In case of overhauls like SFO, needs a compatibility patch/alternate version.
  • Savegame compatible.
  • Native support for TabletopCaps.

No guarantee I'll do it, mind you. Currently living in another city with my laptop and no warhammer installed :D, but I go home here and there.

It needs to be an ingame model that already acts as a handheld shield (the 'shields' on them aren't really anything, just fancy textures with bump maps). The paint of the shield is easy enough to do, but the model itself needs to exist. So if you've got a unit in mind hit me :D

is it possible to give the shielded ones, less "state troopy" looking shields? like the ones on thier back, or bucklers and targes?

Highly unlikely. Maybe if I ever get interested in playing them... equally unlikely.

will there be more living units for sartosa?

@warbossrok
I've never played those mods before, so no. I might around to making them. It's not gonna be a priority mind you, but I might look into it. Currently started a new job :D

Great mod! Award given. Is there a compatibility submod somewhere so that these can get scrap upgrades (imperial armory) and warband upgrades?

You've already posted the same on the Levy Militia. I said I'd consider it. And I've decided against it, for balance purposes.

If you're using my State Troops Mods, crossbows have high ranged AP but have less range than vanilla. (ST Archers replace vanilla)

was thinking the unit itself is nothing special, and wont replace a frontline of state troops, rather mix them in and support eachother, shielded spearmen provide melee defense and keep the frontline alive, and the militia mob mixed in with the spearmen do the AP damage.
