Description
DE_FUNERAL

Features:
- 20 spawnpoints for each team
- Large scale map of the central part of the village where the church, cemetery, shop and historic two-storey warehouse are located
- Access to the cemetery and near ceremonial hall (bombsite B)
- Access to the shop building including the roof
- Access to the warehouse including the upper floor and the walkway around the warehouse
- Church by the cemetery has access to the tower and roof
- Many sniper spots due to access to higher grounds

Story: A group of terrorists wants to disrupt an upcoming funeral, threatening to bomb the ceremony hall or the coffin car.

If you hate snipers as much as I do, try the grounded version of this map de_funeral_grounded https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3411887719, where players don't have access to rooftops or the upper floors of buildings. This should restrict players from using sniper spots (which won't guarantee that players will find a sniper spots elsewhere).

Known bugs:
- Bots can get stuck on ladders or act stupid
- Shading errors may occur in random places. In these places players, props and geometry do not cast cascaded shadows, but only baked ones, also player's hands have bad shading. I suspect incorrect vis clusters calculations, but since I have no control over generated vis clusters, I don't know if I made a mistake or if I hit some limitation of the Source engine 2. See screenshot of these errors
- In the CT spawn area, corrupted vis clusters are most noticeable, causing bad shading

OMG you're the best... wait... the church is not turned around. Oh well, I guess I can't have everything. Thanks man, it's still great. Really. :steamthumbsup:

To NakedAgent: Thank you for your constructive feedback. I accepted the challenge and somehow made it through. I've made the church tower accessible, so now it's a sniper's paradise :D

This led me to the idea of releasing an alternative version of the map, for those who don't like snipers so much (de_funeral_grounded)

Another good map. But we are missing out on a great opportunity here: turn the church around and make the church tower accessible. This would offer a great angle on the objective and add so much more fun to the game.
