Description
“Night Vision” is a mod for Project Zomboid that introduces an exciting new mechanic of night vision, enhancing immersion and survival difficulty in the dark world of the zombie apocalypse. With this mod, you'll be able to better spot threats in the darkness, but be cautious — the altered environment may hide dangers that aren't immediately visible. The game becomes even more engaging with the new challenges and opportunities offered by night vision.

Main Features:
  • Night Vision Mechanic – The mod introduces a special mode that allows the player to see better in the dark. With night vision activated, visibility is significantly improved, but it also affects the character's stamina and can alter the perception of the environment.

  • Increased Difficulty and Realism – Along with the night vision, the survival aspect of the game becomes more complex. Players must manage a new resource to avoid exhaustion in harsh conditions, adding a new level of challenge.

  • Compatibility with Original Mods – The “Night Vision” mod builds on three key mods that significantly enhance the base game. It makes use of:

  • Night Vision API – This mod enables night vision functionality within Project Zomboid. It adds a realistic night-vision effect, allowing players to navigate in the dark with enhanced visibility.

  • Nightvision API SFX Replacer – This mod works as an enhancement to the Night Vision API, replacing the sound effects associated with night vision with sounds from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019.

  • Night Vision Goggles – This mod adds night-vision lights to the game, making it easier for players to use night vision more effectively in dark areas.

New Features in the Mod:
  • New Lighting Mechanics – In addition to night vision, the mod introduces new elements related to the use of lamps, flashlights, and other tools that help with survival after dark.

Nevermind, it was in the last place I ever would've thought to look. It's a tab in the menu to the right of character, skill, health, etc.

does this actually add night vision googles to the game or do you have to add those seperately?

@marshmallow justice... looks like it should work as the original API commands are the same. But re-bind my [Weapon NV] hotkey as mentioned by [Psychotic X] so it doesn't double toggle the function. I can't verify B41 because i'm stuck in here working on things for B42... but it looks like it should looking at it from way over here.

how do I edit the key binding for activating night vision? I have the susceptible mod and that uses the "n" key to put on/take off the gask mask.

@seanpook +anyone with the "I hear night vision but see no night vision" issue:

The Arsenal Gunfighter mod uses a default "Weapon Night Vision" hotkey "N". This mod also uses "N". So when you hit N, it turns your NVG on and instantly turns it off. You might hear the "click on" and the "power winding down" sounds at roughly the same time.

This took me way longer to figure out than it should have.
