Description
About
The mod adds radiation zones and radiation poisoning mechanics, making exploring the world more intense and exciting.
When in a radiation zone, the character and his things accumulate radiation, which leads to radiation sickness.
The closer you get to the center of the zone, the higher the radiation level. Protection requires a radiation suit and threat assessment detectors.
Radiation poisoning reduces health and causes weakness, and is treated with special medications. Keep an eye on your surroundings to prevent radiation sickness from breaking you!

What this mod adds:
  • Areas with radiation contamination
  • Radiation sickness and medications to treat it
  • Player, objects, vehicles, zombies and animals accumulate radiation from the environment.
  • 5 fully functional dosimeters with a working digital display (or arrow) for measuring radiation.
  • 2 new types of liquids to decontaminate items and vehicles from radiation.
  • 2 new lead containers to protect items from radiation.
  • Different effects of radiation on the player (for being in weak radiation you only need a gas mask, for being in strong radiation - you need a full radiation suit).
  • Radiation decontamination shower

For server owners

You have to spawn the radiation zones on the map by yourself.
For static spawning you can use the configuration file TerjeSettings/ScriptableAreas/ScriptableAreasSpawner.xml in your server profiles folder.
For dynamic spawning you can use standard events.xml

The mod settings are located in the TerjeSettings/Radiation.cfg config file in your server profiles folder.

Hello @Terje Bruøygard
Terje, would it be possible to create a specific class for the shower tent?
One for when it's in kit form and another for when it's deployed?

quick question, does this work with gas mask only?

I love how you have this set up. Simple and easy, thanks @Terje Bruøygard

Look for the XML file named "ScriptableAreasSpawner" and then put your pos.

Copy the format of the one that is auto listed, exp:

<Area>
<Active>1</Active> <!-- 1 = enabled -->
<Classname>TerjeRadioactiveScriptableArea</Classname>
<Position>9626.29 0 9024.43</Position> <!-- X Y Z (Y stays 0 here, height handled below) -->
<SpawnChance>1.0</SpawnChance> <!-- Always spawns -->
<Data>
<OuterRadius>300</OuterRadius> <!-- Outer edge of the radiation field -->
<InnerRadius>200</InnerRadius> <!-- Strongest radiation area -->
<HeightMin>-50</HeightMin> <!-- How far below ground the zone extends -->
<HeightMax>250</HeightMax> <!-- How high above ground it extends -->
<Power>3.0</Power> <!-- Radiation intensity (1=low, 2=medium, 3+=deadly) -->
</Data>
</Area>

how do i add radiation to my server? do i literally have to manually put every zone, or are there presets that i can just copy over? Also, does the "dynamic zones" thing mean they appear at random or something? I'm pretty new to DayZ, so I din't know how to set those up

Great Mod !
Just one question : Is it normal for my clothes to get wet when I'm in a radiation zone?
