Mods to be installed
For the Scania S BEV and Renault E-Truck there are many mods available until SCS implement a real recharging possibility.

I recommend the following ones:
- Renault E-Truck: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3259048902
- Scania S BEV: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3280350843
- recharging: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3280404411 (many thanks to Snarfv the creator of the Scania S BEV mod for this hint!)
Refillable gas station engine or real electric?
The Renault and Scania both have with these mods engines with emulated fuel where you can refill at gas stations, a LR chassis with much bigger but unrealistic battery capacity. The Scania gas engine has a fuel range of about 2000km when driving normally and not playing need for speed.

My recommendation are the real electric engines because only with these you can regain energy when braking. Especially with the recharge mod. That would be more realistic.

Also with the normal chassis and engine you can drive within a convoy or TMP without getting an error. For TMP you need tools like truck&trailer changer to recharge. Inside an convoy all people just only needs the recharge 600KW mod to recharge. Or also use truck&trailer changer.
How to drive?
Firstly: you regain energy via engine brake. So as in real life when you go off your accel pedal, the truck will brake.

Because of this you drive with engine brake on all the time. Also the cruise control will make use of this brake to regain energy when slowing down. So first thing before driving is switching it on and leave it there. The CC will also hit the brakes when needed in addition.

The second important thing is weight. The more you move, the less is the range. So medical vaccines and other light loads like computer processors are the goods to go for. Generally try to stay <10t.

To recharge the truck (if you are using the real electronic engine) is when you are <15%. Search for a parking lot, press F7 and call for emergency recharge. You need to pay for but get mostly 100% charging level for Scania and 100% for the Renault.

Try to drive wisely. Brake early to mostly not use the real brakes, but use them when needed. Most payment routes with barriers can be passed at 30kph.
Scania S BEV vs. Renault E-Tech
This is a personell taste but I tried both. The Scania is solid but only a better S HighLine with mostly the same dashboard while the Renault is a really new truck with an virtual cockpit. The Renault is also able to come to a stop just by only using engine brake to regain energy. The Scania is at 8kph at the end and you need to brake it manually to a stop.

My prefered one is the Renault because you also see regained energy, used energy, battery KWh, range and cruise control at once while in the Scania you need to switch through the dashboard or using a third party overlay like SpedV or trucky.

In regards to range has the Scania an advantage with it's 624KWh while Renault only has 540KWh. You can cruise with both trucks pretty easy with 100kph in france, spain and other countries where 90kph are allowed. Or you stick to 90kph and have a little more range.

And another hint: use "automatic gear change up" from the settings to force the highest possible gear.
