In this guide, you will learn all the nuances of choosing trailers. Are there any best among them? Which ones should you buy? Which bring more money?

Introduction and general information

WARNING! This guide is translated from Ukrainian. If you notice any errors, please let me know.

You've probably wondered: which trailer should I buy? Which trailer is the most profitable to buy? What is the difference between trailers? Which trailer earns more?
I will answer all these questions in this guide.

The first fact I wanted to tell you about is that within one type of cargo, the amount of funds directly depends on the weight of the trailer. There are also additional coefficients: ADR, long distances, valuable cargo, caution and urgency. But these coefficients are calculated from the base price, which can only be affected by the characteristics of the trailer.

An example is the cargo of olive trees:


As you can see, this is the same order, but the weight of the trees is different, so the amount of funds is different. I did a little research in order to find the best trailers among all those present in the game. This will allow you and your hired workers to earn more money.

Further in the manual, the weight of the cargo will be displayed in pounds, since when displayed in kilograms or tons, the weight is rounded, which is inconvenient

Let's start from the beginning, the more weight a trailer carries, the more money you will be paid. And there are three factors that affect the load capacity.

1. Body type - what loads can this trailer carry. Within one body type - the loads are the same. The following body types are currently available:
   
   • Curtainsider;
     
   • Dry Freighter;
     
   • Insulated;
     
   • Refrigerated;
     
   • Flatbed;
     
   • Container Carrier;
     
   • Brick;
     
   • Log;
     
   • Chemical Tank;
     
   • Food Tank;
     
   • Dumper;
     
   • Low Bed;
     
   • Low Loader;
     
   • Gas Tank;
     
   • Fuel Tank;
     
   • Silo;
     
   • Livestock.
   
   
2. Trailer type - dimensions and how many parts the trailer consists of. The following trailer types are currently available:
   
   • Single;
     
   • Single Long (15 m);
     
   • Double/B-double;
     
   • HCT.
   
   Each type of trailer is only permitted for use in certain countries where they are legal:
   
   • Single trailer is allowed for use in all countries in the game;
     
   • Single Long (15 m) and Double/B-double are used in the following countries: Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Finland, Portugal and Sweden;
     
   • HCT is only used in Finland and Sweden.
   
   
3. Trailer manufacturer: At first glance, it seems that all semi-trailers have the same load capacity, but this is not quite. It differs from manufacturer to manufacturer. We will consider this in detail further in the manual.

Let's start with the Trailer type:

• HCT carries more than a Double/B-double (but there is a nuance, which will be discussed later);
  
• Double/B-double carries more than an Single Long (15 m);
  
• An Single Long (15 m) carries more than a Standard Single Trailer.

The logic is clear. But there is also a restriction related to the use of trailers in certain countries, which I mentioned above.

Single Flatbed and Container Carrier

Allows you to transport cargo: Construction equipment and materials

If you ask me what is the best trailer in the game, I will answer that it is Floor with Container Pins.
This trailer combines two trailers: Floor Flatbed and Container Carrier. That is, in terms of the number of possible cargo, this trailer takes first place. Therefore, I recommend buying it first for yourself and your hired workers. It is not expensive, but it has many advantages. Just do not forget to install the upgrade that opens at level 18: Floor with Container Pins.

• Container Carrier trailers do not need to be purchased;
  
• Floor with Container Pins the best Flatbed and Container Carrier in the game;
  
• Floor with Container Pins carries 8.75-10% more than the Container Carrier;
  
• Floor with Container Pins carries the same amount as Standart Flatbed;
  
• Floor with Container Pins has the largest amount of available cargo in the game;
  
• Kässbohrer K.SLL Container Carrier the first unique Low Loader in the game that functions as a Container Carrier;
  
• Kässbohrer K.SLL Container Carrier carries half the cargo of Container Carrier;
  
• In the Kässbohrer K.SLL Container Carrier semi-trailer there is no difference between 2 and 3 axles;
  
• In the Kässbohrer K.SLL Container Carrier semi-trailer there is no difference between the Long and Short chassis;

Best choice for garages:

• Finland and Sweden: Floor with Container Pins HTC;
  
• Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Portugal: Floor with Container Pins Double;
  
• All other countries: Floor with Container Pins.

Single Curtainsider and Dry Freighter

Allows you to transport cargo: general and dry goods and medical equipment

The second place in terms of the number of cargo is occupied by the Curtainsider trailer, since it transports the same cargo as the Dry Freighter trailer, as well as explosive materials and fireworks. If we run ahead, Dry Freighters transport the same weight of cargo as Curtainsiders, within the same manufacturer, and given their increased cost, any sense in buying a Dry Freighter disappears completely. But I'm only talking about numbers, if you like the appearance, you can use any trailer. This article is designed specifically for the maximum performance of trailers.

We figured out the design of the trailers, let's now consider the load capacity depending on the manufacturer.

• Dry Freighter is not necessary to buy, they are more expensive, the load capacity is the same, the type of cargo is smaller.
  
• Wielton Curtain Master is the best trailer in terms of load capacity;
  
• Wielton Curtain Master carries 6% more than standard;
  
• TIRSAN SCS, Schmitz S.SC UNIVERSAL, Schmitz S.SC EcoFIX, Kässbohrer K.SСX HD4, Kässbohrer K.SСX HD3 and Kässbohrer K.SCS X+ carries 3% more than Standard Single Curtainsider;

Single Curtainsider Long (15 m)

Allows the transport of goods: general and dry goods and medical equipment

These trailers can only be used in the following countries: Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Finland, Portugal and Sweden.

With the addition of the Schmitz Cargobull Trailer Pack, Kässbohrer Trailer Pack and Kögel Trailer Pack, a new type of trailer was added to the game - Long. These trailers have an Long design and the total length of the trailer is 15 m, in standard trailers 13.7 m. If these trailers were available in all countries, they would be the best trailers in game. But considering that these trailers are available where Double/B-Double trailers are also available, there is no financial sense in buying Long trailers. It is better to buy a Double/B-Double trailer right away.

They can only be used in Finland and Sweden.

Interesting fact, the maximum number of drivers in the game is currently 355, if you sum up all the garages in the LIST of countries where you can use a double hitch/B-double and HCT trailers, you get 350, that is, for maximum earnings you need to buy garages and hire drivers in these countries.

• Finland and Sweden: Kässbohrer K.SCX HD3 / 160 - 18 / 27 HCT;
  
• Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Portugal: Schmitz S.SC UNIVERSAL Double;

Insulated and Refrigerated

Allows you to transport cargo: frozen and chilled products, vaccines and medical equipment

• All Single Refrigerators have the same load capacity, choose any;

• Schmitz S.KO COOL Long carries 12% more than a Standard Single Refrigerater;
  
• Kögel Cool Long carries 9% more than a Standard Single Refrigerater;
  
• Double/B-Double have the same load capacity;
  
• Double/B-double carry 40-50% more than a Standard Single Refrigerater;
  
• The best Double/B-Double Refrigerated is Standart Double/B-Double Refrigerated.
  
• Refrigerated HCT carries 100% (i.e. twice) more cargo than a Standard Single Refrigerated;
  
• Refrigerated HCT carries 25% more cargo than a Standard Double/B-Double Refrigerated;
  
• Refrigerated HCT can only transport cargo within the borders of Finland and Sweden.;

But you may ask why I don’t consider Insulated trailers, the answer is simple. Refrigerated trailers carry all the same cargo as Insulated trailers, as well as frozen food and flowers, so there is no need to buy Insulated trailers.

The best choice for garages:

• Finland and Sweden: Standart Refrigerated HCT;
  
• Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Portugal: Standart Refrigerated Double;
  
• All other countries: Standard Single Refrigerater.

Drop Side

Allows transportation of: Outdoor Floor Tiles, Roof Tilesand, Fertilizer, Bricks, Big-Bags of Seeds, Plant Substrate and Olive Trees

Conclusion:

• Drop Side Trailer has a small number of individual loads. All other loads can be transported by other types of trailers. Therefore, you should not buy this type of trailer, it is not relevant for use.
  
• Wielton Dropside Master the best trailer in terms of load capacity among Single Drop Side Trailer;
  
• Wielton Dropside Master carries 6% more than standard;
  
• TIRSAN T.SPL 3/ON - 12/27 carries 3% more than standard;
  
• Double Drop Side carry 50% more than a Standard Drop Side;

Silo

Allows you to transport: Plastic Granules, Cement, Sand, Stone Dust, Rye, Wheat, Barley and Wood Shavings.

In terms of its cargo, a Silo is similar to a Dumper. Unlike a Dumper, it carries a smaller amount of cargo, but at the same time allows you to transport additionally only Cement and Plastic Granules. Therefore, the relevance of purchasing this trailer is questionable.

Low Bed

Allows you to transport: Heavy equipment and high loads.

Now we have moved on to semi-trailers, where the mechanics of the loads change a little.

Previously, we looked at trailers whose cargo weight varied depending on the manufacturer or modifications.

In the Low Bed and Low Loader with the improvement of modifications the weight of the cargo does not change, that is, the cargo weighed 20 tons, so it will weigh, regardless of how many axles are on the trailer.
When installing new chassis modifications that increase the number of axles, new loads are added. And the better the modification of the semi-trailer is (more axles on the chassis), the more different loads this type of trailer can take.

The Low Bed and Low Loader with gooseneck have a large number of identical loads, that is, the Low Bed and Low Loader with gooseneck are interchangeable trailers. But not without nuances, there are unique loads that are available only for a specific trailer (more on this later).

Basically, the new loads that become available after installing a better modification (more axles on the chassis) are more expensive than those available on the basic modification of the trailer.

Cargo comparison table in Low Bed:

Yellow cargo - unique cargoes available only for Low Bed, which are not available on Low Loader.

Conclusion:

• "5 Axles, Extendable, Long" and "1+4 Axles, Extendable, Long" are the best chassis modifications for Low Bed, allowing you to transport all available loads for this type;
  
• When changing the trailer modification, some loads may differ slightly visually, but this does not affect the price: Bulldozer Z35K (no bucket);
  
• I do not recommend installing the modification "1+4 Axles, Extendable, Short", since the additional axle in front worsens truck control at speed and increases the likelihood of skidding, which can lead to an accident.
  
• Low Bed with modification "5 Axles, Extendable, Long" or "1+4 Axles, Extendable, Long" carries the heaviest cargo in the game (not counting DLC ​​Special Transport): Locomotive - Vossloh G6 (61 t)

For all countries:

• Low Bed with modification "5 Axles, Extendable, Long"

Low Loader

Allows you to transport: Heavy equipment and high loads.

As we can see, the Low Bed and Low Loader have many common loads, but there are also unique ones that are only available for this type of trailer.

• Low Loader has less unique cargo (3 unique cargo vs. 7 unique cargo in Low Bed), so when buying it is better to prefer buying Low Bed;
  
• "4 Axles, Extendable, Long" is the best modification for Low Loader, allowing you to transport all available cargo for this type of body;
  
• When changing the trailer modification, some loads may differ slightly visually, but this does not affect the price: Bulldozer Z35K (no bucket);
  
• I do not recommend installing the modification "1+4 Axles" and "1+3 Axles", since the additional axle in front worsens truck control at speed and increases the likelihood of skidding, which can lead to an accident.

Developers already answered that "cargo mass depends on maximum gross trailer weight, country limit for given axle count/combination, and, of course, trailer volume and cargo density (unit mass, unit volume).", so you did a lot of work for what it is a drop in a bucket that works in very specific cases.

Just as an example, out of 29 jobs tested with the same truck in four different axles combinations and the same trailer in three different axles combinations, out of 348 permutations only 8 were capped by trailer limit alone (2.3%) and 13 by it and other limits at the same time (3.7%).
