Description
This mod is supposed to go with its partner mod https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3293833766 but you can just opt for vanilla health if you are fine with it

Inspired by SomethingRetarded's Increased Damage, and Decreased Damage Nightmare Edition, this mod is those two but with a WAY more stronger early game weapon, and a less drastic damage spike beyond level 6. (both mods above has a scaling system resembling an exponential curve beyond level 6 dear god)

The goal of this mod is to provide a more brutal yet gunfight experience starting from the get-go, allow players to take on high threat environments without being soft-locked from the area via getting killed by bullet sponges, even out the levelled damage difference but still giving player an incentive to get a higher leveled weapon (or upgrade one's weapon if you have the means to), and still provide a challenge to players when fighting an NPC lower level than you.

Also increased monster damage accordingly as well, but lower than SomethingRetarded's mods and with a flatter curve, bc dear god why can batong can snap your spine in 2 swipes on early game

  • Level 0 and Level 1 weapons are equal mainly for ship locker starter weapons. starts from x6.5, which it ramps up by 0.15 each tier until level 6; beyond that point, the increase is harsher, increasing by 0.25 each tier, ends at x8.25.
    x6.5 > x6.5 > x6.65 > x6.8 > x6.95 > x7.1 > x7.25 > x7.5 > x7.75 > x8.0 > x8.25

  • Monsters ramps up differently, which it now has a flatter curve and easier early game than the alternative mods.
    x3.5 > x3.5 > x4.25 > x5 > x5.75 > x6.5 > x7.25 > x8 > x8.75 > x9.5 > x9.5

I HIGHLY recommend using Raiizy's Forge with this mod, it gives you a starter firearm, fits well into the game, and makes gunfight insanely fun and fast-paced

Should be across-the-board compatible with other mods, doesn't work with other mods doing the same thing- specifically, mods that touches damage scaling (weaponDamageLevelMultiplier and monsterLevelPowerMultiplier)

go nuts fido

@ochto

yeahhh, I leave it untouched in favor of other rebalance mods >.<

...Might do a separate mod to buff the shields though, will think abt it

I think you forgot to boost the health of the shields they get smashed but your mod is greath

@Not a Spy

right off the bat, to existing weapons AND future generation! since scaling IS procedural sooooo should definitely work
Not a Spy Sep 29, 2024 @ 4:50am
does this needs a new save?, universe? or just works right off the bat ?

kinda poked around a bit

decreased monster scaling to make things feel more even, x12 IS too much imo

Thank you! Sorry for asking so many questions. Have an award.

@Hyperdino

No worries about it :D had to explain it to my friend earlier as well

This mod should work perfectly a-ok, Tougher Mobs and Better Loot doesn't seem to change anything this mod does, since it only alters damage scaling for weapons and monsters.

Unsure about the other one, though- but it does seem to play well but it should impact minimally if it's not compatible; Best case scenario, the HP Equalizer applies and things works as you intended

Worst case scenario, the game prioritizes Harder Mobs and Better Loot's HP scaling*, but this increased damage scaling should give you plenty of ways to fight them hehe

*(if it alters the same parameters at least, which... I am unsure if it does, but from what I can tell, my mod is the one that gets prioritized over Tougher Mobs and Better Loot's HP increase, so it might work as intended. Expect either the game prioritize either, or a mixed bag of both depending on case to case basis, but it should work with no problem regardless.)

Sorry! Just wanted to make sure it worked since the only comments I saw AAS were about it not working. Does this mod (and it's sister mod) stack with Harder Mobs and Better loot? I have them running together and they seem to work
IndigoTail  [author] Jul 25, 2024 @ 2:10pm
@Hyperdino

checked, AAS still works for me? Unsure what's with them, still works wonders for me

Regardless, the duo mod still works- the alterate armor scaling is just ramping up early game armor, while reducing 100 defense efficacy so its not 100%
