Description
Revamp Servers Mod Pack

Welcome to the Revamp Servers mod pack!
We’ve made a lot of custom changes to enhance the base game, exclusively for Revamp Servers. If you use any mods that aren’t ours, please be sure to follow and subscribe to their original creators on Steam. This helps keep their mods visible and ensures that repacks don’t interfere with their ratings.

While we’ve compiled and adapted these mods for our server, full credit goes to the original creators. We do not claim ownership or authorship of any of the mods within this pack. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out via the Discord link below, or better yet, join us on the server!
Issuing a strike against this mod is pointless unless you wish to lose money in court. Come talk with me first.

Bohemia Interactive Studio Terms

According to Bohemia's Terms of Service:

> Workshop contributions are considered subscriptions. This means that anyone who downloads your mod from the Steam Workshop is subject to the same rights and restrictions as any other subscriber, as outlined in the agreement.

User-Created Content:
- When you create content using DayZ or make it available through the game, it’s essential that it doesn’t infringe on copyrights or break any laws.
- For the benefit of the community, you grant Bohemia irrevocable permission to use, copy, modify, and adapt any content you create. You also agree that others in the community have the right to use, modify, and adapt your content under the same terms.

For more information, refer to Bohemia’s full EULA - https://www.bohemia.net/community/licenses/dayz-end-user-license

Steam/Valve Terms

Steam's Workshop TOS states that game developers must give explicit permission for mods to be sold. Bohemia has made it clear in their policy: it is forbidden to charge for DayZ mods. Any attempt to sell mods is a direct violation of both Bohemia’s and Steam’s terms of service.

Additionally, any Workshop-enabled app may have specific terms that modify the general Steam terms. In DayZ's case, Bohemia's terms take precedence, meaning you cannot sell DayZ mods, under any circumstances. Packing code into a server mod PBO immediately binds you to these terms.

The Law: DMCA and Your Rights

The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) was enacted in 1998 to handle claims of online copyright infringement. However, Congress also recognized that takedown notices could be misused to remove content that doesn’t actually infringe copyrights.

Section 512(f) of the DMCA:
This section creates liability for those who knowingly submit false DMCA claims. If someone falsely accuses you of copyright infringement, they could be held liable for damages. A notable case was *Online Policy Group v. Diebold, Inc.* where the court found the takedown request to be a violation of fair use, resulting in damages awarded to the wrongfully accused.

In short: If someone submits a baseless DMCA claim against your content, they could face legal consequences under section 512(f). For more information, visit Cornell Law - DMCA Section 512 - https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/17/512

Simplified Breakdown

1. **Bohemia's Terms**: By creating and sharing DayZ content, you allow others to use, copy, and modify your work. You are not legally required to seek permission to modify or re-upload any community-made DayZ mods.

2. **Steam's Terms**: Bohemia has the final say when it comes to DayZ content. You cannot sell mods made for DayZ, and by packing any code into a server mod PBO, you agree to these terms.

3. **DMCA Protection**: If someone falsely claims your content infringes on their copyright, you can challenge them legally. Section 512(f) of the DMCA protects you from malicious takedown requests.

While it’s always courteous to ask for permission and credit original creators, from a legal standpoint, you are not required to do so.
