Every navy has a name passed down through generations of ships. For Aurorans, they revere one name in particular, which has been carried by 6 ships prior. And soon, their enemies will come to fear it. The Solvernia, nameship and only ship of the Solvernia-VII class dreadnoughts, 7th to bear the name, and pride of the Auroran Navy.

They would get its first taste of the dreadnought, not within their own territory, but in orbit over the Federation’s Homeworld, Aurora. She still had yet to be commissioned when an alien fleet arrived through the gate. To call her first moments out of the dockyards a trial by fire was an understatement. Still unproven and untested, Solvernia responded to the aggression by penetrating the first battleship she could get her hands on with her massive 88cm rail-cannons. Having pumped her first victim full of nuclear projectiles, the Solvernia would lead a counterattack, thrusting deep into the enemy fleet. Her presence demanded the enemy’s undivided attention, where her nigh impervious armor absorbed vigorous blows that would have ruined any other ship, and her powerful Melody fusion reactors granted her shields the stamina needed to weather such a vigorous pounding.

While the planet was ravaged by the battle, Solvernia’s domination of the battlespace prevented the worst of it. Outrage at these unknown adversaries swept through the myriad peoples of Aurora like a wildfire. While her mission had originally been one of peace and exploration, the former research expedition became one searching for answers… and for some, vengeance. With Solvernia at the tip of the spear, the expedition would set forth beyond the gate… Into the Persean Sector.
