To ensure accuracy, the bomb must be released at minimum roll angles. The best results are achieved when bombing from a stabilized flight when aligned with the planet's gravity.

In manual control mode, you control the ship as usual and look for a target through the camera sight (#8 on the digital pads). When a target hits the crosshair, you need to have time to activate the reset timer (#9 on the first digital panel).

In semi-automatic mode (switching to #9 on the second digital pad) you do the same, but the reset timer will be activated automatically by the camera's aiming beam (raycast).

To switch to fully automatic mode, you must aim the ship at the target through the custom turret sight (control #7 on the second digital pad) and then press #6 on the second digital pad for the ship to begin automatically moving towards the target.

Automatic target designation is reset by switching to manual mode (#9 on the second digital panel).

Note: searching for a target at a distance through the sight of a custom turret must be done in manual mode to avoid unnecessary bomb drops due to active raycast.
