Introduction
Welcome to my largest L4D2 modpack. This modpack is entirely immersive to the original source material while also adding in Easter Eggs and references from other games and pieces of pop culture. Below I will be outlining the features, ideal install instructions (it is pretty easy, trust me), some precautions and things to keep in mind, as well as alternative modpacks that I have created. By default all mods are compatible with one another, and therefore it is safe (outside of the crashes from too many mods) to run all mods without getting things like model errors or crashes on startup.



Features
This modpack is built around reworking the game from the ground up with things like animations, models, textures, sounds, and quality of life improvements. In short, this pack does everything except add "script" mods. The reason script mods (as in, mods that tamper with core elements of the game like weapon damage or zombie damage) is because they are literally unusable online. To help your eyes, I have put a few of my favorite tweaks in bullet points below:

  • Complete item overhauls (guns, melee, throwables, and all other items in your inventory)
  • New player and zombie models
  • 4K and HD texture remasters as well as replacers
  • Sound overhaul
  • Improved AI
  • Improved UI
  • Less clutter on screen (no blood, mud, or flashes of light when near explosions)



    Tips and Precautions When Using
    Using this modpack in its entirety is quite unstable. Some maps are able to be played entirely without crashing, and some will frequently crash on startup or between areas. Regardless of your PC specs this will happen because L4D2 is an old game and is ran in 32 bits. 32 bit games cannot load things as fast as the modern 64 bit games, and therefore too many fancy things at a time will make the game crash. If you want to make the game crash less you should make sure to move the workshop mods to the add-ons folder. This tip will disable the ability to check for mod updates, but it will save you load time between stages and (especially) when booting up the game. A step-by-step guide will be posted below if you are unaware of how to do this. In addition, certain mods (usually larger in size) are more problematic than smaller mods; this is why this modlist has no map packs. Deleting larger mods will drastically improve the amount of crashing in game (graphical mods with words like "HD" or "4K' and animation mods are your main culprits, specifically the firearm mod).
