BACKSTORY
  • It all kicked off with buying a 3D-printed toy.
While strolling near the city park, my child and I spotted some unique toys at a street vendor's stand. We were amazed at how fantastic they looked and felt in our hands—lightweight yet surprisingly durable. Soon, a crowd gathered around the seller, and everyone couldn't help but be intrigued by these toys (people were buzzing behind us, discussing how cool they looked, what they were made of, and the prices while my child and I were picking out which toy to buy). This got us thinking: "What if we started printing our own toys?"

SEARCH FOR A 3D PRINTER
I couldn't shake off the idea of getting a printer and diving into creating whatever my child and I desired.
Of course, like with any other piece of tech, you need to search, and sometimes it takes a while, but eventually, you can find something that won't give you a headache. This is my first CNC purchase.

1st MONTH OF USE
Printing a 3D model is not the fastest task, but we offset the time investment with the low cost of the resulting products.
  • Without stepping away from the CNC
Every product we launched for printing, my daughter and I watched with great interest for several hours from start to finish. It's truly fascinating. A month later, I grasped many nuances of this CNC machine and software so that the models we printed were perfect and didn't end up in the trash due to excessively high printing speed or a slight adhesion of the surface to the table. It's painful to see your model getting damaged hours into the process because of incorrect settings. Just a lack of experience.

AFTER A WHILE
Over time, the enthusiasm for creating new products on the printer waned.
As I used the printer and observed its long-term product creation, I developed an appreciation for the lines and contours that bring your model to life. And again, the thought crossed my mind—what if I create a game skin in the same style?
But first, I'll print a model of the Glock-18 on my 3D printer... :)
