This mission offers a 'Vietnam Patrol Simulation' experience. You are in charge of ARVN troops, and your role as 'Tactical Advisor' is to oversee their patrols deep behind enemy lines.

Why should you play this mission? In short, you'll improve your skills in jungle operations. Reflecting on my own experiences playing this mission, my survivability has increased significantly, as has enemy identification and neutralisation. Consider this as a way to improve your skills as a 'patrol operator'.

On start, the player must be in the top slot to select a patrol mission. Create/load your patrol loadout, which will be saved on leaving the virtual arsenal. Then, open the map and click on a patrol marker to start the mission. Not all patrol markers are complete/live, but routes on the main map (and not outside the boundaries) should all work fine.

Once in the field, await arrival of ARVN troops via Huey, then consult the map and move out to Objective 1. Be advised, there is also a VA near to any patrol start. Join-in-progress players should take note, as they will not be able to access the VA at the main base once the mission is live.

This mission includes a simple dialog command system (configurable in the key settings). But for those who prefer a more simple approach, the same commands are available as an addAction. And, for those 'Voice Attack' addicts, each command also has its own configurable keybind, so specific commands can all be issued via voice too.

New features are always being added - this is very much a 'work in progress, with a healthy roadmap ahead'. Some of the current in-game features are:

* CAS system (throw red smoke, then call in CAS for bombs on target)
* AI Revive System (ARVN AI will try to get you you and heal you when you get injured)
* Intuitive high command system, with ARVN moving with you, with minimal command effort on your part
* SOG Operators will join you as your personal security detail, when you destroy enemy weapons caches
* In-field Virtual Arsenal

Hey @Polox thanks for the comments, that means a lot! The original mission was very much a combined ops type deal, with lots of player-flown helis ferrying infi-players into the mix, running resup missions and loads of CAS. It was great. My issue is being able to convey this concept to players easily. My plan is this: This will eventually be three missions in one - pure infi, pure heli and combined arms (helis and infi). I would love to hear more of your thoughts, and really appreciate the comments here.

An automatic dynamic or manual selection for everyone at server start would certainly be a better alternative (as in Domination, for example) - could you elaborate?

Hi Regggs, I stumbled across your mission and think the approach is great. Also that no further mods are needed. Since I like to fly and you can board and unload AI here, this is absolutely great. It also keeps you busy as a pilot. So extra pilot slots would be great. I don't think the selection at the start of the mission by the commander is so great. An automatic dynamic or manual selection for everyone at server start would certainly be a better alternative (as in Domination, for example). I am not a good scripter but if I can help you AND IT IS WITHIN MY POWER I WILL GLADLY TRY IT. I will also try the whole thing on my Dedi. server.
