2LW Inspired: Seyvrosk-West Airfield

Description
Inspired by the legacy 2LW Project Altrius Maps. Now the second Map in my "Inspired" Series:

"Despite Hettland's strong defense in the Bocage Country, within nine weeks Syrvanian forces broke out of West Hettland, storming into the Leersog heartland. Capturing the Free City of Seyvrosk, an important industrial center and logistical hub vital to Hettland's continued resistance, quickly became a top priority. As Syrvanian forces advance, elements of the 6th Syrvanian Armored Guards Regiment are ordered to seize enemy airfields in the city's vicinity. Although evacuated just hours ago by the Hettic Royal Air Service, remaining Home Army units are expected to provide stiff resistance here at Seyvrosk-West Airfield..."

THE MAP:

A mix of combined-arms attacks, CQB areas and long range zones. Lots of hedgerow cover/potential ambush points, defensive emplacements and open fields of fire mean that this map should provide a strong challenge to both sides. (FYI for attacking players: using smoke is highly advised!)

As a Syrvanian (Eagle) attack map, they're provided 12 tanks in their assault. Significant numbers of turrets and emplacements (over 40!) are provided for the defenders, as well as a handful of slow-spawning armor for counterattacks. To prevent capture, all remaining unserviceable aircraft have been scuttled.

BEST PLAYED WITH 200 UNITS, EVENLY BALANCED OR WITH RAVEN ADVANTAGE.

THIS MAP IS MEANT TO BE PLAYED WITH AND IS BALANCED FOR THE 2ND LEERSOG WAR WEAPONS/SKINS PACK!

(I can't guarantee that turrets or vehicles from other specific mods will be positioned correctly, as it was tested with only the above mentioned mod. Sorry!)

hi im sorry, but i´d like to put planes into the APC slots but the landing gears keep geting stuck in the ground. Would it be possible to move them up a tiny bit so i can spawn planes in?

Hey could you remove sandbags from the TOWS because when i replace the TOW to a wwii cannon mod it will shoot from the sandbags and it kills me

ah, well the light tank thing def explains some things. Makes me wish yet again for a vanilla IFV or something with fewer seats.

Thanks for the response, Yul Rave!

You mention having APCs present: are you using the 2LW weapons/vehicles mod? If not, it would help fix that:

The map is specifically designed/balanced for that mod. The APC becomes a light tank, operable at minimum by one bot, and carries only 4 additional infantry on the outside that deploy automatically. This allows for far more infantry to attack than fully manned vanilla APCs.

As for flag spacing, I'll definitely keep that in mind next time, and maybe even experiment with that here...
Yul Rave (starstrafe) Nov 11, 2023 @ 2:58pm
it would not be quite so necessary to run 200 bots if only there were not so many APCs present; it takes close to 50 blue bots just to man all the vehicles. 12 Armors is fine for the initial push, but maybe around half of em' could be set to "do not respawn" so that more infantry bots can populate the inner map once they're inside.

This next thing is more of a preference than a suggestion, but i notice that ravenfield bots do their best work when the flags are spaced out at 100-300m intervals or so. Between 700m flags, they start to show their stupid quite a bit more, and it becomes highly unlikely that they accomplish anything while dallying out in the open. Do what you want with this criticism, it's a pretty neat map regardless.
