US CIA & Embassy Staff Vietnam War

Açıklama
This is a very small and silly config faction made using SOG Prairie Fire DLC & S&S assets. The Saigon Embassy staff 'look' is based on the dramatic TV images and press pictures from the 1968 siege on Tet. These units have a sort of 'grab whatever gear you can from the armoury and defend the embassy' type of look! There is also Military Police and CIA teams. I have also used some items and uniforms from Laws of War, Contact and Art of War DLCs. You may need to download these as well. I'm not sure if you can use these items if you don't own the DLCs as i don't really know how it works. That is why i have released this as a separate addon as i know that not everyone wil have these DLCs.

I used ALIVE's ORBAT creator to make the factions so you cannot override the units' loadouts unlesss you have ALIVE loaded. I don't know how to get around this i'm afraid despite the fact that i have tried but just cannot understand coding that well. You can still add items and change gear once the mission starts through Arsenal/boxes etc.

You'll find the following groups in the mod under 'US CIA & Embassy Staff Vietnam War':

SpecOps
- CIA Field Agent Team (1968) (Flak jackets and rifles)
- CIA Agent Team (1968) (Suits and pistols)

Support
- Embassy Military Police Unit (1968)
- US Embassy Staff

Thanks to BI, simcardo for the wonderful S&S & the amazing SOGPF team at Savage. I have used 'Phantom Phixers' and UNSUNG mods for some of the screenshots in this addon but they are NOT required.

Feel free to ask any questions or if you have any suggestions for any updates.

If you don't know, there's a submod for S&S called 'Phantom Phixers' that add MP uniforms. I suggest you check it out.

it would be nice if we had a philippine faction ;-)

Really? That's insane, why in gods name would they subject themselves to that? Was that common in the places they worked? I know white guys don't blend in, but damn.

There is color photograph evidence of them wearing suits

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.

@Witchy I'm guessing there probably is a Model 12 somewhere but I'm always keen to keep the number of dependencies down so unless SOGPF include one in their planned 'official' mods then probs won't be making an appearance unfortunately.

@rolf, in my mind I pictured the CIA looking sharp in suits at all times whether carrying out extreme rendition, extortion, bribery or just making coffee in the office or buying stationery at WH Smiths!

Great mod! and pictures, you did some research! One thing that stands out in the historical assault on the embassy was the use of Beretta Model 12 SMGs by US embassy staff. There is video that documents this although I am not sure if a mod in Arma models this SMG.

i don't think they wore suits in a place as disgustingly hot and humid as SE Asia. Maybe Hawaiian shirts and the occasional polo shirt... tho polo is more of a college grad thing.

If you do not own the Laws of War, Contact and Art of War DLCs there should be compatibility mods on the workshop for all of them. Keep in mind this does not grant you free access to these DLCs, it only mediates compatibility issues for non-owners.
