Guides

I would recommend watching my Video Guide on YouTube to help better understand the assets, to learn how to use them, and for some tips and techniques on usage. It's the easiest way to learn about the assets.

Fresh Water Source

The Fresh Water Source is a new asset created to allow us to add in-game water to much smaller spaces than the existing water tool allows. It is both a water input (An invisible Water Tower) and a water output (An invisible Fresh Water Outlet) in one combined asset.

When placed in my Pool Station assets, or any ditch of sorts, it will fill the space up with water and remain at a consistent level and not overflow.

The asset requires a form of No Abandonment such as through Advanced Building Level Control, otherwise the building can flood itself and become ruined.

This asset can also be used in rivers, streams and ponds which are much smaller than the in-game tool allows.

Includes:
  • 1 Fresh Water Source (Water Input and Output)

Recommended Mods

1. Advanced Building Level Control - The Fresh Water Source asset requires a form of no abandonment like through this mod, otherwise it can occasionally flood itself and become a ruined building. Open ABLC settings and ensure NoAbandonment for all buildings is ticked.(4/5)

2. HideIt - Due to its proximity to water, nearby grass unfortunately turns to a ruined look. To avoid this, turn off 'Shore Area' in HideIt.(3/5)

How to use

First make sure you have 'no abandonment' turned on in ABLC settings. Plop the asset down in the center of the pool or lazy river. Connect the water input and out put with a vanilla water pipe. Water will now fill up the space, this can take a while, so I suggest speeding up the game with Play It.

FAQ

Q: Water won't fill up in the pool?
A: Check the underground view using the water tab. Are the water input and output lit up in blue (like in my images above)? If not, then they're not turned on. Maybe you didn't have 'node snapping' turned on. The asset doesn't require electricity, so if you connect the input and output with a single pipe then it should work. Also, don't connect them with any other ones nearby, so only ever connect the one input and output with a single pipe.

Q: The fresh water source has become abandoned?
A: The fresh water source requires a form of no abandonment otherwise it can flood itself. Use Advanced Building Level Control, open ABLC settings and ensure NoAbandonment for all buildings is ticked and you should have no problems.

Q: The fresh water source is spouting up water, raising and acting strange?
A: This only happens when there are too many in close proximity. Delete nearby ones to the issue, one should be sufficient to fill your nearby pools. On the pool stations which have 2-3 pools in one asset, these only need 1 water source (not one for each pool). I haven't tested this myself but could be a cool thing to use this glitch to create a wave pool in your Water Park.

Hello Sully! This asset keeps failing, though it says it's working. I'm using 81 Tiles mod with roads as pipes. I do have all my water input/output hooked up with pipes at their source, but they don't turn blue. I even connected pipes directly to this water source. I also have no abandonment activated in ABLC but it keeps collapsing causing the disaster helicopter to come and repair it. Any ideas?

Respect for your efforts and use of a train function as a water slide. Not really going to use it, but the watersourche seems to me to be interesting for small canals and rivers.:steamthumbsup:
