[Temporarily Paused] Better Mechanics : Times of Peace

Description

Ever felt like after a war accompanied by years and months of strife, there was no actual return to a semblance of everyday life? Have you ever wished to continue your game past the great conflict era, but your CPU gave up on you? Have you ever wanted to continue your RP game further but found it unrealistic that the AI still builds up for a world war like there is no tomorrow? Or do you wish to enjoy a balanced game for you and the AI? Then this mod is for you.

Through a combination of old mod files, some use of HOI4 Codding, and a sense of hope, I created a comprehensive peace and demobilization mod based on the five concepts detailed below.

  • Peaceful Economic Growth: Every so often (the exact amount of time depending on ideology and economic law), an event will fire, giving you some extra goods (new civ factories, infrastructure, building slots, etc.) giving you a little extra incentive to remain civilian or early mobilization. This should boost democracies and make the other demobilization mechanics more interesting.

Moreover, the AI and players use this. It also affects them, so be careful about dragging your nation to war for too long. It also creates an even stronger incentive to demobilize and use the civilian economy.

Convoy raidings and strategic bombings will also affect your country's domestic affairs instead of some measly war support debuffs, so watch out.

  • Dynamic Battalion Limiter: Every country can only support a certain number of individual military divisions before their economy and infrastructure struggle to maintain them.
The maximum number of supported battalions is based on the country's total population and owned states. It is then multiplied by the country's overall level of industrialization. This will also depend on your economic mobilization (I made it more compatible by removing the economic ideas and making them instead a trigger). This battalion limit is accompanied by a dynamic unit remover for the AI depending on its situation, especially war support levels.

  • Highered World Tension Decay: Ever wondered why world tension stays this high even after so many years? Well, this mod also improves and raises world tension and thus prompts other demobilization mechanics in a more realistic manner (the war support buff from world tension will be smaller)

  • Post-War Coalition Mechanic: Once a great war (3 or more majors join the war) finishes, the countries will try to prevent other strong nations (>9 mils) from declaring war on their neighbors by forming coalitions (only once war breaks out). The number of countries willing to join said coalition depends on how long they've been at peace.

  • Supply Production Mechanic: A new and refined mechanic from EYWR that will use diverse calculations to represent your ability to wage war (see the screenshot)

  • War/Economic Exhaustion Mechanic: A war exhaustion mechanism inspired by the one in the Endsieg: Ultimate Victory mod. Since the BBA update, casualties have been counted to determine your war support. The more manpower you lose, the more your war support will tank along with your draining manpower, which is excellent and realistic. However, the war weariness of your economic policies and focus toward war is not represented, with the nation mobilizing entirely but no consequences to such degrees of mobilization. This mod seeks to fix that by introducing war exhaustion connected to your economic policy.

Since the demobilization mechanics of the game are already understood by the AI, the loss of war support beneath levels like 30% will prompt it during peacetime to demobilize because some mobilization and economic laws are tied to war support levels. You will now find a use for your war support decisions and heavily monitor war support!

You can also reduce War Exhaustion via decisions, but be warned: those are stopgap decisions, and the cost is high!

Results
After a big war or a long period of military mobilization, war support plummets as the tension becomes lower and lower, prompting you and the AI to demobilize some troops and reduce economy laws; however, this won't be painful since lower economic mobilization, your economy grows thanks to a more natural and organic process.

Compatible With anything that doesn't add or change ideologies (Might make a Kaiserreich Version soon, despite them having their mobilization system).
Since modifying economic laws is removed and replaced by extra triggers, mods that change economic mobilization laws like EAW are compatible!

Future Changes
Depending on suggestions and feedback, I want to :
  • Make an addition to some flavor event for export laws (which might give convoys, transport planes, or other benefits related to trade; I have no ideas for now). Trade is already somewhat balanced, but it can sometimes be annoying if no one buys your products. And a nation doesn't solely trade for military resources (I want to put more abstract and good effects about having an export-focused or free trade-focused nation; suggest me things, please)

  • Create a war-stopping coalition mechanic: After a massive war, nations will prevent other strong nations from declaring wars Done, enjoy the mod

  • Create a Dynamic Conscription/Mobilisation Mechanic, which will penalize you in stability, war support, and other debuffs for having higher conscription laws enacted for an extended period. I am open to suggestions about the modifier that will happen.

Special Thanks
Peaceful Economic Growth
Battalion Limit

War exhaustion Mechanic going crazy when creating puppet like reichskommissariat or just normal puppet being at war. Problematic. Anyway, with this mod AI building very few military factories and Germany in 1939 have only 12. They lossing year later. AI deleting their factories.

nah for some reason, AI just drops war exhaustion to 0% and one time i saw even to -3%. Not all of them but as i saw Italy, USSR, Japan and many others.
Will wait patiently for update. :praisesun:
