Tagge Industries Shipyards Limited

The Tagge Battlecruiser is a pre-Imperial (pre-Clonewars?) warship used during the upscale capital class ship race during or after the Ruusan Reformation. The Republic at the time mothballed much of their fleet and encouraged independant systems to raise their own Navy. As a result there was a period of showing off with various large Dreadnaught style ships.

By the time of the annoucement of the Galactic Empire the Tagge Battlecruiser was already outdated. It has very good point defence but lacks anti-capital weaponry. It has a lot of hull and shields making it a good defense ship parking it in a sector protecting your assets. Very good against smaller ships.

It has terrible mobility and that is done on purpose, not the best jump distance too, since during the Ruusan Reformation there was a rule that enforced limited hyperdrive capabilities by large capitalships.

These warships were pledged by the House of Tagge in support of Imperial warships during the Yavin blockade, and were under the command of General Ulric Tagge. The official reason for their deployment, however, was to curb mining strikes in the Gordian Reach. The family patriarch, Orman Tagge, used his brother's position to conduct operations throughout the blockade without the Empire's knowledge, in order to discredit his rival, Darth Vader.

From my research, I think 3-4 of these were built.

Model design is inspired by Skye's magnificent Tagge Battlecruiser for the mod Thrawn's Revenge for the game Star Wars Empire at War : Corruption.
