Minor fixes and tweaks, otherwise I consider it complete for now.



What is ReGrowth?

ReGrowth is a mod deeply influenced by the philosophy of the Vanilla Expanded Series and the understanding how biomes work, what role they play in your game. Everything added was made to fit or mirror vanilla. From a simple UI texture to a new more complex system,being as performance and vanilla friendly is the main objective we have.

This is the module for the tropical biomes, adding new trees, terrain and plants to enhance how it looks and make it more unique.

ReGrowth is designed to be as lightweight as possible, adding the minimum of new code required for its auditions to work.

















As of right now there are not supported mods.



Q: Can this mod be added to an existing save?
A: Yes it can, but be aware some content like new terrain might require a new save to fully work.

Q: Can this mod be removed from a save?
A: It depends. Technically it can be, but I will not provide support if you do.

Q: Can I use other mods that do similar changes to the game? (GreenRim, etc.)
A: Probably yes, but I can't guarantee that everything works as it should.

Q: Is this mod part of the Vanilla Expanded Series?
A: No, while you might see similar people attached, it is NOT a Vanilla Expanded mod.

This is my favourite Biome, Hands down! Thanks very much for hours of content, great job with the Biomes! Hope to see more :steamthumbsup:

I'm with Hyomoto, i've got some conflict going on and all the rainforests spawn with a sea of sand instead of tropical soil. Idk what the issue is, but I'm not going to spend the time to find out, just adding support to the issue of the separate soil.

@Hyomoto: Thats strange, because all of those have patches and worked last time I checked. Will check, but no, there wont be an option.

I don't *quite* see the issue there, you already offer features to adjust behaviors in the mod: I'm just saying that for new maps that use the tropical biome it could be possible to choose whether or not it uses vanilla soil or tropical soil. For clarity, VE Medieval moat digging doesn't work on tropical soil, VE architect lawn and grass plots can't be built on tropical soil, and lastly VE Plants can't till tropical soil. There are probably others but they all share the same problem: they don't recognize tropical soil as soil. There are also some compat issues with Seeds: Please but I don't think they come from your side.

I have seen people mention that Regrowth *has* compatibility issues but aren't usually clear about what they are. Other modules like Temperate also seem fine so it's a bit unfair to write off Regrowth for vague compatibility concerns when they are very obvious: tropical soil may not work with any mod expecting vanilla soil.

@Hyomoto: Cant offer soil as toggling it would break saves. You just will have ask for or make patches for it.

Originally I wasn't going to mention this as a bug, but there's enough conflicting behaviors it seems worth bringing up: the soil in Regrowth: Tropical isn't, well, soil. I understand there's a complexity behind why that is, but it means that anything that explicitly relies on soil just doesn't work with that change. As a compatibility feature, perhaps offer soil as a toggleable?

Browsing through the workshop I found your mods again, and while I'm happily adding them to my install, the one that will be in my heart forever is that old tundra biome with lava lakes. I know it was hard on the performance and had to go, but the memory I have of that playthrough was... mystical. I don't know what it was, but the sheer power of *ATMOSPHERE* of that stuff was something else!
