It's the apocalypse and there are few sources of pleasure anymore and even less judgmental people that you may as well embrace your own degeneracy and start sniffing Socks. You do you, no judgment; however there is no guarantee that the Socks are fresh.

Each pair of socks is randomly assigned a clean or dirty value and the majority of the time you'll simply sniff them and move on with your life. 10% of the time your character may enjoy the process or be disgusted by their own actions of degeneracy and it'll affect their happiness slightly.

Very rarely (~1%) your degeneracy will reach an all time high and you'll shout out in absolute pleasure or agony.


Pretty much cause I found the previous mod "Panty Sniffer" a fun joke mod

So when I was scrolling through the mod I saw someone comment "now make a mod that allows you to sniff socks" and I found it hilarous. So I researched a bit on how code works in Project Zomboid and I scalvaged most of the code in "Panty Sniffer" and repurposed it into this. I hope whoever commented that finds this meme mod lol.

It should work for all clothing items that can be worn as socks or listed as "Socks" in the code. Even modded socks work too I believe.

Any Clothing Item that attaches to the Body Location "Socks" should work
Every item in-game has an ID assigned when it is spawned. If the Socks has an even IDs the mod considers it to be good/fresh, and if it is an odd ID, we consider it to be rotten/bad. Completely arbitrary.
90% of the time, fresh/rotten doesn't matter. No bonuses are applied and just a random text is placed above your head to denote you have sniffed the socks.
9% of the time your character will really get into it and your happiness is slightly increased or decreased (between 1 and 5 units) depending on freshness. The "REACT" lines are used with up/down arrows above your head to denote happiness changes
1% of the time your character will strongly react to the process and SHOUT out loud and either get a little tipsy or a little queasy depending on the Sock's freshness. The "CRIT" lines are used with up/down arrows.
Each pair of Socks can only be sniffed once an hour to avoid spam sniffing for happiness farming. This is accomplished by logging a mod data datestamp to the Socks when they are sniffed.
The UI Translations[github.com] contain 5 lines for each Neutral, Good Reaction, Bad Reaction, Good Crit and Bad Crit
Works in both Single and Multiplayer though the MP testing was very basic at best. May be some issues where you can't sniff socks someone else has already sniffed within the last hour.
Safe to add mid-game or remove at any time.
