Scarborough

Tier I - Attack

A curious attack submarine that calls back to a lost era.

As wrecks pile up on the ocean floor, the increasing need to salvage these hulks has become every day. Spend any time with submariners who have traveled the harrowing caves and they will recount to you stories of those desolate vessels that are outlandish, extraordinary, and sometimes true. Many have taken to the habit of dropping depth charges onto such wrecks, cracking them open and hopefully dealing with what may lurk inside.

Noticing the practice of “Knocking” as some submariners call it, Submarine designers set to making an attack vessel that specializes in delivering charges on a precision basis. Taking a page from distant historical war machines of far-off earth, the idea of a Bomber became increasingly interesting to manufacturers.

The “Scarborough” class of attack vessels are the accumulation of this research. Small, compact vessels not much bigger than a Dugong – capable of relatively cheap manufacture but featuring a robust durability. Seeing increased manufacture, these sturdy and small vessels serve as excellent attack vessels for their asking price, more readily available than far more powerful ships at higher tiers.

I've made my version where bots can actually go to bottom backside turret. There are also some changes, but they don't change the balance of the submarine too much.

Love the sub, but has a problem with AI in the aft turret. Bots can't seem to open the door going down into it. Could you update the bot waypoints to fix that?

Definitely has a lot of fun potential, especially with those depth charges, but I have noticed a few problems-- mainly in bot pathing. They really seem to struggle with two main things; getting into the rear chaingun turret, and getting out of the cargo bay/depth charge area. Also not the biggest fan of the fact that the chaingun can't be swapped out either, but that's a minor nitpick.

Still, that said it's definitely a neat sub! I enjoy the novelty of the linked forward guns, the lower searchlight periscope is useful, and the general styling is great. Certainly a fun little thing-- especially with friends, I'd imagine.

Love this sub. It might actually have taken the spot for my goto/favorite Tier 1. The rear chaingun turret is amazing. Gives me the vibe of old B-17 gunner pods. Amazing work.

Photoshop - mostly layering tricks and such, though I'm sure you could do similar things with other art programs.

How'd you make the thumbnail?

I see a distinct lack of knife crime and other related or unrelated violent crime. For a sub named the Scarborough, I should expect more/
