Pause World Time In Hours

Description
About
Combines Pause World Time and [WOTC] Hours Instead of Days' to make them compatible and feature complete.

Features
  • The geoscape clock will not tick forward until you scan at a site or fly somewhere.
  • Missions and scan sites will display how long they will last on the mission board as well as tell you the time it takes to get there.
  • While scanning, if the scan will be completed in 48 hours or less, the button will display time left in hours instead of days to completion. [Configurable]

Why?
The reason the two mods are incompatible is because they both override the same class causing a conflict. You could get around it by commenting out a line in [WOTC] Hours Instead of Days engine config, but you would lose the feature of seeing scanning sites in hours.

This mod merges their code so that the conflict doesn't occur thus allowing time to be frozen while allowing scanning sites to be displayed in hours.

Installation
According to Pause World Time a new campaign is required, but in my experience both that mod and this mod are usable mid-campaign. You can also swap both original mods out for this one mid campaign as well.

Compatibility
  • Overrides UIScanButton
  • Not sure if it works on vanilla so I marked this as requiring WOTC.
  • (Obviously) Incompatible with the original two mods.

Permissions
Made with permission from -bg-. Davidtriune didn't get back to me so this page is suspect to being taken down at their request.

Fun fact: Pause World Timer (and this mod) doesn't actually stop time; it simply makes time so incredibly slow that the change in time is imperceptible.

On some rare occasions, there are "events" which makes the clock start ticking. Also, unfortunately, I noticed that sometimes this mod borks the order of events, which leads to weird UI issues, especially at the end of the month and when a POI pops up. On a couple of occasions, it also caused mission expiration when the avenger arrived to it (before seeing squad selection and aborting it).

Great mod - thank you @MrWatsyoname. It's a mod I never new I wanted but now is in my must have mod list.

So to answer Kinsect's, and anyone else's, question about CI compatibility, this should work with CI okay. The streamer OneGrumpyBoi uses this mod with CI without issue (so far) and several collections with this mod also include CI.

About CI and its integration of Hours Instead Of Days, a user in the CI compatibility discussion thread said:

"I must say that "Hours Instead Of Days" being listed as "Not Required - Integrated" is a bit misleading. CI integrates only part of the functionality, affecting only counters on the event queue. Meanwhile HIOD additionally affects POI scan timers and adds "expires in X hours" note to POI icons on bottom left. Now perhaps those omissions are intentional, I don't know, but I think a note about it would be useful to have (for what it's worth from my quick test activating HIOD with CI to just add those changes seems to work)"

perhaps kinsect asked the question because covert infiltration already has hours instead of days integrated inside of it

@WaldoTheRanger from my understanding "upcoming events" only has the event list (research, builds, etc.) in hours and not missions.

The mod "upcoming events", which had the hours instead of days functionality baked in, was already was compatible with pause map timer

still appreciated. I'll keep this in the back pocket as a decluttering option later

@Kinsect haven't actually tried using this with CI yet but don't see why it wouldn't work.
