Looks like this mod hadn't actually updated as intended. Try again now. :)
I think that the workshop is still giving out the version from May 30th - which is what it shows as the latest release. For the mean time, I rolled all your mods back to the previous version and will run them local until Steam starts to show the new version.
However, when unsubscribing and resubscribing, it does pull the new version - even though Steam workshop is reporting that the mod hasn't been updated since May 30th.
The workshop being ... the workshop?
Try verifying cache. I've been testing with both mods, so probably one failed to update.
Could not resolve cross-reference: No Verse.PawnKindDef named VU_DemonPrince found to give to RimWorld.PawnGenOption (null w=1.00 c=null)
This only occurs when Vampires, Demons & Undead is enabled along with Heaven and Hell. I think you may already know, because it looks like you are in the middle of rolling out some changes across several of your mods and this may be just a timing issue.
If there is a body available (and they didn't take fire damage shortly before death) then they will periodically look for bodies some time after death. If they fail too many times then you will get a notification that they passed on permanently.
Returning almost immediately is very rare. At earliest I think it can happen after half a day. At longest I think it is 5 days. Every time they fail to find a valid body it picks a random time between those to try again.
They will also only try consider corpses on a home map to be valid, mostly so they don't end up on mission maps and stuff.
I'm mainly wondering if it ABSOLUTELY brings back the pawn, or if it just has a chance to. I'm also wondering whether it needs fresh bodies or if they can be desiccated. Then, I'm wondering if there needs to be bodies before the pawn dies, or if they just hang around until one becomes available. Finally, is there a time frame it should happen in?
I tried to run a test to see what happened and, out of 10 subjects with the gene, only 2 came back immediately and chose fresh corpses. The other 8 didn't and every test after had none of them revive.
