Wanna play with some TWOM mods code? https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/discussion/2909394122/594011444874354157/
I know I said it in the discussion, but it does really please me to be able to finally offer a very configurable mod; pity it's not possible with Steam Workshop XD
Also you're very welcome :) I think depending on which order u load ur mods, the text will only work on the 1st mod, so maybe it's still usable with strange plants to some extent at least.
I would have to create a new mod on the workshop, also including strange plants. Couple hurdles there XD Maybe if enough people harass me lol
The craft-able item unlocking inventory slots is one of the first mods people made for this game. If you crafted or found a vest, it had pockets. All good I thought at the time..
Sadly during its brief development (TWOM that is), one of the head honchos apparently decided they did not like this modding, because it "made the game too easy an experience", and they purposefully broke/disabled our ability to manipulate that with mods :< Still mildly butthurt about it
By the way, thank you very much for the mod, I'm enjoying it a lot <3
That is to say I don't think you can directly edit (most of?) the mod files that Steam Workshop hands over.
Also in situations where you can do that, Steam will try to overwrite your edits with the current Workshop version all the time, unless you've created and are editing your own mod, that is not on the workshop at all.
You'd have to go through the process of understanding how to make a mod from scratch using their mod tool in order to be able to freely edit as you want I think. There are so many pitfalls lol
I believe I might have tried to explain the process to the Strange Plants author years ago, but it means uploading a new mod, with no subscribers, comments, history, and probably deleting the old one off the workshop, etc. so they probably decided to just leave it / provide the additional, fixed download. Do both the workshop and manual downloads of Strange Plants no longer work when u run them on their own?
Basically if you uploaded their manual download version of the mod as a new mod, I think it can be used normally on Steam Workshop, if there isn't some incompatibility u mentioned idk about.
Problem still is, TWOM doesn't know how to utilise multiple mods at the time time basically.
Yours is truly awesome. I can't make any better than that. I just wanted to edit your files to my liking. Thank you again!
The link providing the supposed fix does not work due to game updates :/
The mod works fine with yours, the only problem is the missing text
What do you want me to do to their mod anyway actually? Like they seem to have a functional version there, is it incompatible with all item-adding mods like I vaguely remember or what's up?
Sadly it will have the same problem I think, which is you can basically only run 1 of these kinds of mods at a time, give or take some specifics.
To get all their plantz stuff to work alongside everything this mod does, I would have to integrate their mod too, which is maybe getting a bit much in terms of taking other people's work?
I realise we kinda have no option as gamers, like we just can't properly run these lovingly crafted mods together.. So the only option is to basically create a mega-mod, that has literally everything in it, or at least everything you personally want.
That's what I already did tho tbh lol idk if I should contact that mod author and maybe pick up the tools again.. Have they said they don't mind their mod bits being used?
