Radio in ETS2
Euro Truck Simulator 2 has two ways of enjoying music during your long roadtrips: local music files (like an iPod), or radio stations. We'll be covering how to set up your favorite online radio stations in ETS2 (some may not work).
Finding a radio station
If you have a current radio station you like on the Internet, you will need to find out the stream URL for the radio station (you can Google how to do this). If you are too scared or can't be bothered, I will provide a few radio stations at the end of the guide. Your radio stream URL can be a direct SHOUTcast CP link, .pl, .pls, or .mp3. I may be wrong though, but most direct radio URL's should work fine. Once you got your link, proceed to the next step.
Choices of Radio Stations
If you already have your radio stream URL, just skip this step unless you want more radio stations to add.

It's up to you for what radio streams you want, but here are some stream URL's that I have ready for you and work in-game!

stream_data[128]: "http://relay.181.fm:8050|181.FM - 90's Country" stream_data[129]: "http://relay.181.fm:8018|181.FM - Highway 181" stream_data[130]: "http://relay.181.fm:8130|181.FM - Kickin' Country" stream_data[131]: "http://relay.181.fm:8034|181.FM - Real Country" stream_data[132]: "http://relay.181.fm:8016|181.FM - The FrontPorch" stream_data[133]: "http://relay.181.fm:8128|181.FM - Power 181" stream_data[134]: "http://relay.181.fm:8002|181.FM - The Office" stream_data[135]: "http://relay.181.fm:8032|181.FM - The Mix"

If you have any radio stations you'd like to add in-game from 181.FM (their website is here[www.181.fm]), please leave a comment and I will try my best to reply as fast as I can with the code to put in! Check them out, they have a ton of free radio stations of many, many different genres.
Adding your radio station to Euro Truck Simulator 2
  • On your computer, reach your Documents folder.
  • Open "Euro Truck Simulator 2"
  • Open the file "live_streams.sii" with Notepad (or any other supporting application)
  • There may already be radio stations already in this file, so scroll down.
  • Copy the following line and paste it underneath the last radio station listed, right above the "}" (without the quotes).
stream_data[]: "Radio URL|Name"
  • Replace the "Radio URL" area with the URL of your radio station
  • Replace the "Name" area with what you'd like to see it titled when you check the radio menu in-game (Tip: if your radio station is called something like Rock Radio, call it Rock Radio so you know what it is).
  • NOTE: You must retain the format you pasted. Do not remove the quotations or the | in the code. Only replace the underlined words, nothing else.
  • Save the file and close out of it.
Closure
If you have performed all the steps above, you should find that when you go in ETS2 and press R or click on the Radio icon in the menu, you'll find your radio station in the list!

Thanks for reading, and long live trucking!

EDIT: A few people want to add things like Pandora into ETS2. Only direct URL stations work, sorry.

It ain't very helpful, but a small solution is to stream the radio station in the steam browser, close the browser and play. It works for me!

Down rating this guide because you skip over the hardest and arguably, most essential, part with a "Google it" remark.

In order to get these internet radio stations to work in ETS2 you need the direct stream URL, I still haven't figured out a way to get this consistently, I’ve only been able to do it once, that’s why I’m here. This guide was not helpful at all, all this info, and more, can be found on the ETS2 Wiki. If someone can find out how to get the direct stream URL from internet radio stations consistently, please let me know.

hi, I wanted to add Aarschok Radio, Metal Radio, but it doesn't work.
I added this to the live_streams.sii file in notepad: stream_data[231]: "http://www.pinguinplayer.com/#Aardschok|Aardschok|Metal|ENG"
what am I doing wrong?

Are liquid compass difficult? I'd thought about updating ETS 2 since Vinyl Radio's audio a bit weird and I want to add a few more stations to the mix.

Would recommend Rix FM for driving through Sweden :)

@WithinMySights It would be:

stream_data[xxx]: "http://listen.181fm.com:8000|Awesome 80s"
