Morph Mod

Description
Mod ID: 2891395606
Morph Mod allows for players to morph into any dino they've marked and killed.

Works better higher up on the loading order, does not require being first but also avoid putting last when you have a lot of other mods.

You may need to respawn or fast travel for the mod to activate
Mod will not function correctly in creative mode
If you are experiencing crashes make sure the mod is updated and or report it in the glitches discussion.

Please read the full description BEFORE asking questions!
If I don't respond to your comment, the answer is probably somewhere in this description

Overview
First, you have to look at and mark the dino (default button Z) you want to add to your morph list then you, or any person or dino in your tribe must kill it within 30 seconds (default). If you don't manage to kill the dino within that time you can't mark it again so make sure you time things right! If you were successful, the dino will appear on the list in the menu where it can be selected as the morph dino. Don't leave the game in morphed form as your morph form will still be there when you log back on.

Controls:
Open Menu
Double Tap "Drag Body"
Default G
Morph
Double Tap "Defecate"
Default ~
Set Target Dino
"Order Add/Remove Tame"
Default Z
Change Quick Morph
"yell"
Default Shift+B
Select Quick Morph
Double Tap "yell"
Default Shift+B
Controls can be changed by rebinding the default keys in the same place you change controls for Ark normally. While in game press escape, options, then click the option that looks like a keyboard along the top.

Check the ini settings discussion to change default values.

Features
  • Morph into almost any dino (Including Modded)
  • Creatures killed with the targeting system retain their colors when you morph into them
  • Dinos can be removed from the list and re-added to change the stored colors to the new creature's colors
  • Morph levels are saved
  • Equipped saddles on morph are saved
  • Initial morph level is player level plus dino level
  • When your Morph dies, you die
  • In multiplayer you can carry other players morphed as small dinos
  • Admin Mode for testing purposes
  • Lots of ini settings to tune the experience to your liking

Admin Mode
Admin Mode loads all the "dinos" in the game, including any modded creatures, objects that classify as creatures, and special case creatures that may crash you so be careful. It also takes a while to load and will freeze ark for a bit (30 seconds to a minute) since it's a pretty intensive function.

Note:
  • This theoretically should work with all modded creatures but it's not guaranteed, Let me know which creatures cause problems and I'll take a look at what the issues are.
  • If you need to delete your save, it can be found in SaveGames in the folder MorphMod
  • If you are experiencing crashes on multiplayer be sure everyone has the newest version installed (sometimes steam will refuse to update this mod and you'll need to either restart stem or resubscribe)

Switched over to ASA
Hey, Pretty sure everyone is doing this so don't be surprised that I'm moving over to the ASA dev kit on UE5 (which is hopefully better than ASE devkit on UE4) both devkits are ~380GB and I'm not about to give ark another SSD so yeah, no more updates here. To the people who liked this mod, thanks for the support, I'll do my best to revamp everything for ASA. To everyone else, why are you still here or even reading this?

To be honest I haven't had much time to work on either version over the past year. The ASA version is nowhere near being ready and for now I no longer have the devkit for the ASE version (each devkit is 500+ Gigs). For anyone reading this I will likely not abandon this version since it seems like transferring mods has gotten a bit smoother since the beginning of ASA. However, I'm on my final year of college and that takes priority over this. I'll still answer questions and such but don't expect any updates. Everything should still work but let me know if things break since I am not actively playing ark. I hope to get back to actively working on this project by this time next year, sorry for the super long delay but life comes first.

(TLDR): I won't abandon this mod but I won't have time to update for the next year or so because life.

Moving to ASA this soon is a bad move. Still doesn't run right for a massive amount of people.
I hope you reconsider or at the very least keep the ASE mod version updated.

I don't believe so, you may be able to still whistle the light on but I'll see if I can add something but no promises that that will actually happen
