Gene Tools

Description
Modding tools for creating xenos. Adds the ability to use a gene to assign custom body types, and restrict apparel to certain body types in xml. Also allows texture masking for bodies and heads so you can control what parts of a body are skin colored, or if they are at all. View usage instructions here: https://github.com/prkrdp/GeneTools/wiki

Incompatible with HAR

Recommended Mods:
-Better Gene Graphics Framework: https://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=2880940958
Adds tools for adjusting nose, ear, tail, etc. graphics which this mod does not affect.

Update:
-You can assign a "subsititute" body to a body type, so if your body is similar enough to another and you don't want to draw new textures for all apparel, it can use apparel textures from the substitute body.
-You can have a gene force differing head types for females, children, and babies
-Apparel worn on the head or that has no worn texture i.e. shieldbelts are no longer restricted by body type
-Apparel worn on the head is now restricted by head types

I don't plan on updating it. 1.5 changed pawn rendering so I would have to basically start over and redo any compatibility with other mods as well. I also just don't have the time that I used to. Sorry!

@Parker Yes, I apparently downloaded the wrong version, thank you very much for your help!

@DanEpsilon Just to make sure you have the right version, this is the one you need:
https://github.com/prkrdp/GeneTools/tree/experimental

It may be worth trying to unsub from the steam version to make sure you are running the one in your mods folder. From the main menu it should be Options>Mod Options in the bottom left>Gene Tools.

@Parker I kind of did everything you said, but I can't find the Gene tools tab in the mod settings. Is the tab has a different name?
