Description

This mod adds terminal controls to lighting blocks that give you the ability to save the settings of a single light block and then apply it to multiple lighting blocks. This also works across saves as well (ie, create a lighting profile in one world, it will follow you to other worlds).


How to use this mod
  1. Start by selecting a single light block. Set its lighting properties to what you want your profile to use

  2. Look for the Lighting Profiles terminal controls (closer to the bottom). Provide a name you want to use for your profile and press the "Save To Profile" button (if you provide the name of a profile that already exists, it will be overwritten).

  3. Now that you have your profile, you can select multiple lighting blocks, choose your saved profile from the list, and press the "Load From Profile" button to apply those settings to all the selected light blocks.


Compatibility Notes

This mod doesn't work with the Searchlight block. It does work with the Rotating Light, but cannot set the rotation speed at this time (may try to sort that out in a future update).

I haven't tested this mod in a multiplayer environment as of release, although I have no reason to believe it wouldn't work properly. Let me know in the comments if there are issues.

@Bannor nothing except this is quicker and can be transferred between independent ships. Lets say you build a ship, die and respawn on another planet but want to use the same light settings. Do you want to have to make new groups or just select the lights, then hit apply?

For me this is already saving a TON of time.

@kinngrimm: not at all, its goal is to help you setup profiles for lights (navigation lights for your ships for example). If your goal is to change color of lights following an event the Event Controller can manage, you'd better use a script like Easy Automation V2.0 . Hope this helps.

What's the difference between this, and just creating a group of lights, and changing settings on the group?

Awesome mode, any idea how i can use it through script with programming block, and change profiles by ingame script? I can write this script, but is here any api?

This thing is a real time saver. Wonder if you would be able to do something similar for LCD screens. Just the Color and Background color settings. None of the other stuff. I've had to memorize my favorite lcd amber setting almost like a phone number 200 140 0 - 0 0 10 lol

So far all your work has been a must have in my worlds. Keep expanding my mod list man!

Loading from a profile seems to set falloff to 0, haven't figured out the conditions of this behavior, but it's doing that most of the time...
