The new Smithy linkables (anvil and bellows) added by VFE Medieval 2 don't recognize the large Smithing Table added by this mod.

@CiXwOw Sure, no rush! While I don't think I can help you much as my skills are rather lacking, there are plenty of lovely people on the official rimworld discord server that are very knowledgeable about these thing and i'm sure could help you out!

@Kimo': Admittedly I only had a brief scan of the new system in December, and then got swept away by the holidays, but I from what I could see, the area responsible for power functioned the same way as the current system. But I may well have missed something, or it may have changed since then. I'll take a look hopefully this weekend!

@CiXwOw Good timing, just spoke with Sarg. I asked him if the new system allow to use piped ressources (in this case, gas) to fuel a production station, and he said that was possible. Now, as for how one should go about it, I have no clue. But he assured me that was possible.

@Kimo': I've spoken with them a few times. I've even provided the code that would allow it to work with the current system, but they weren't interested.

@CiXwOw no worries. I'm a bit surprised about hearing that the pipe system can't use gas to power things. I'm no programmer by any means, but isn't it how helixien heater/cooler works? I think your best bet is to directly message Sarg or anyone from the VE team and ask. I've seen Sarg answer frequently on the official rimworld discord server.

I also remember accidentally saving over some of the texture files for the new appliances, so there are some I'll need to redo. I think it's only the grill I lost, though.

@Kimo': Sorry, the holidays/summer got away from me for a bit. I'd have to take another look to refresh myself, but from memory the new system that Sarg referred me to looks like it might suffer from the same issue as the current one. While the new system is technically compatible with the pipe system, it looks like it might only accept piped resources for processing (i.e. ingredients), rather than being able to use them as a power source. I'll take another look when I have some free time, but if this is the case I'll have to think about how/if I want to proceed, as I don't know if it's a good idea to harmony patch the VE framework for compatibility reasons.

Hey CiXwOw, just wondering if there is any news on that ItemProcessor issue?
CiXwOw  [author] Dec 15, 2024 @ 9:49pm
@EnderSlend: There is no bug. it involves an old system that has been planned to be replaced for some time, they just haven't gotten to it yet. This was also first discussed with them before they started using Google Forms. I have spoken to Sarg since my last comment, and he provided me with some references that should help me get around it, it's now just a matter of when I'll have time to get it done. Hopefully this weekend.
