Do Not Go There

Description
Description
This mod is an attempt to stop visitors wandering into dangerous or off limits areas.

This mod will make guests and traders listen to forbidden doors as long as the faction relations are above -20.
Works with vanilla traders as well as guests added by the Hospitality mod - No more will guests open the door for raids or take the short cut through insect filled rooms!

Please note that forbidding all paths a trader has will cause them to panic and make their own way, you have been warned!

Known Issues
The only issues I'm aware of are more down to how guests could be exploited into harm's way, but hopefully the rep repercussions will avoid that.

Compatibility
This mod has been tested in a heavily modded game and seems to work without issue.

Future Updates
Currently there are no plans for any updates!

About
This mod has been created by me, SpaceMoth! A quick mod put together after loosing yet another trade group to traders taking a shortcut through a hostile raid rather than going around out the back door.

This mod is available on GitHub[github.com] with the GNU GPL v3 License[choosealicense.com] so please feel free to take a look to help develop your own mods!

I will aim to update my mods within a couple weeks of any major update!
Please feel free to suggest ideas of additional mods. New mod creation can take some time but I am welcome to ideas. Please note my skills are in scripting and coding, and I have very little ability when it comes to art and assets.

When you forbid a door without this mod only your colonists will honour the forbid.
With this mod, any faction with above -20 faction relations will also honour the door forbid.

I have not tried with Tenants but imagine it would be the same.

How does this set up the "rules"? Does it do it with like, does it add a gizmo for door permissions or zone designators? I see that you mentioned "paths", so that's what made me wonder if it is done with zones. I guess what I'm really trying to figure out is, I'm using Personal Doors by SpaceMoth and I wonder if there is any overlap between the two mods.

@Alanor You seem like the kind of person to download a turret mod and then complain about how they make killboxes too effective.

Thanks for updating to 1.4

@alanor, that is totally a you choice and not a fault of the mod. Having the option to prevent random people just roaming around my magically unlocked doors has been a god send.

This is very, VERY cheaty. At first I just wanted guests and traders to stay out from some areas without restriction settings (which don't even work on traders). Fast forward a week of using the mod and I'm exploiting the logic by leading friendly helpers and traders between two exits in my base and then switching the forbid rules on the doors, making them trapped indefinitely before I send them out to a raid so I don't have to deal with it. As much as I love this exploit, I think I'll unsub from the mod for my next playthroughs or I'll get fat with all the cheese.

@pedroekh I think you are looking for the 'Locks' mod :3

Isn't there a way to add another forbid button only for guests? It's somewhat annoying that my own pawns can't use the doors too.
