[CCCP] T-90A MBT

Produced by Uralwagonzavod, T-90A MBT is main battle tank in service of Soviet Union. In 1992 Soviet Union army decided to produce new modern tank for their forces because previous T-80 were not very effective due to their gas engine. New tank was suppose to be powered with Diesel engine, be simple and cheap. The old T-72 tanks were selected as the basis for the new generation of tank owing to its cost-effectiveness, simplicity and automotive qualities. By September 1995, some of T-90 tanks had been produced, located in the Siberian Military District. Into late 2020 T-90A production stoped, and many remaining units were modernised into T-90MS standard. In same year Uralwagonzavod started production of new T-14 Armata tank with bigger size and much modern equipment to replace T-90 in main battle tank role.
