Description
Play as the patron of the Renaissance, Lorenzo the Magnificent; in Sid Meier's Civilization VI.

Tuscany is one of the most cultured regions in Italy. The name is derived from the ancient Etruscans and the Latin term for their land, Etruria. The Etruscans that once formed a powerful polity in what is now Tuscany, but eventually a rebellious city known as Rome seized the day and overthrew its overlord. Long after the Roman Empire was expunged from Italy and replaced by the Germanic Holy Roman Empire, the prestigious republican city-states such as Pisa, Luca, Siena, and Florence came to prominence. Pisa was the most expansionist of any of the cities, carving a maritime network that was eventually devoured by the Genoese and Venetians. Later, Florence became the most prominent due to the combination of new banking methods and Renaissance ideas; both factors would propagate throughout Europe. Eventually the great banker dynasty, the Medicis, would be granted the city and Tuscany after they accumulated enough prestige across the courts of Europe.

Looks cool, would be nice if they could borrow the Roman units and maybe another unit. This is the only Italy mod that still works

Heya, wanted to ask two questions regarding this mod and a couple others you made. 1. Is it okay if I make a couple portraits for like… 10 of your leaders and upload them as a mod that replaces the original appearance? Been a digita artist for 2 years now, want to learn a bit by drawing in the civ 6 artstyle and not to be rude but your leader images kinda look… bad tbh. And 2. Is it okay if I make another submod, this time to make your Lorenzo an alternative leader for JFD’s Italy instead?

This picture of Lorenzo looks like Putin in a wig

Dear @aeternum_boi,

I've had plans for several German nations, both of antiquity (such as the Vandals) and the modern era. However, we are far from the expansion for Germany proper. Expect Teutonic crusaders and barbarian kingdoms first.

I love the way you make your civs, will you do a Prussia civ in the future?

@Strudeler Tarts

thanks for your answer ; very nice to read (As I absolutely love Venice).

I thought it would be too strong in the beginning (as building 2 Entertainment Complex gives an inspiration for Professional Sports), but after playing with it a bit, it's not that OP (instant eurekas are imo stronger).
I also love the universal men !

Dear @Oddgasm,

Tuscany is the first of several Italian mods in an expansion I'm calling "Risorgimento," with a focus on a modern Italy and internal regions (such as Liguria = Republic of Genoa, Venetia = Serene Republic of Venice, Sardinia-Piedmont, Lombards, etc.). Tuscany is Babylon's cultural equivalent, but instead of falling into certain traps (like many civics requiring technologies for their inspiration) the Palazzo ensures they can keep advancing down the civics tree with random(ish) inspirations. Also, if Tuscany feels too busted, I included a game mode that weakens their trait.

Best Regards,
Strudeler Tarts

Very nice, I love to see more of "Italy" mods :)

So it's basically Cultural Babylon ?
