The Megalodon

Description
A sub shaped like a shark inspired by the now extinct (thanks to Jason Statham) megalodon.

The sub is a Tier 1 transport sub with storage for 40 crates. You will start a campaign with 1,500 credits on normal difficulty. Containers have been manually stocked with standard starting equipment.

FEATURE LIST

Neutral Ballast: 0.44.

Speed:
Horizontal: 23 km/h
Vertical Ascending: 19 km/h
Vertical Descending: 15 km/h

Note: The sub is very sensitive to extra water on board. If either of the airlocks or the brig is flooded expect the descending speed to increase as high as 20 km/h. Repair all breaches and keep the airlocks dry!

Offense: Its offensive capabilities are initially basic with limited firing angles but are upgradeable
with 2 additional hardpoints. One larger hardpoint in the centre of the bottom of the sub and one small hardpoint in the upper fore side.

There is an electric discharge coil in the mouth of the shark allowing you to "bite" intruders. This can be activated automatically via motion sensors controlled by the navigation console or it can be activated manually via a button in the mouth/airlock. Note: The motion sensors will shock friend and foe alike, because I think it's funny.

Remember: If the lights in the mouth are red, you're gonna end up dead. If the lights are white, it's probably alright.

Power: I didn't do anything special with the electricals so your engineers and mechanics will be busy with regular repairs, which I think is a good thing.
There is an optional automation system which is now not as efficient as it once was due to the developers making this kind of thing less effective. Read the logbook in the large steel cabinet beside the reactor to learn more.

Lighting: The sub has actual emergency lighting. When the reactor is not producing power the red emergency lights will automatically turn on.

You can cycle through all of the ship's searchlights by left clicking while using the periscope.

Engineering: The sub has a full compliment of fabricators/deconstructors and a mineral scanner in engineering (Now integrated in the Navigation Console) and a research station. All fabricators are linked to nearby storage containers.

Special Features:

The command deck has an advanced monitoring system where the captain can be notified of any fires, floods or areas of low oxygen. The system tells the captain exactly which rooms are affected from the safety of the command deck.

In the event that you are under-crewed, the captain has a briefcase full of keycards with various permissions in the command deck. Read the logbook within to learn more.

The cargo bay door can be locked from the outside preventing intruders/prisoners from escaping,
but beware the compartment is vulnerable to attack from outside the sub so captives may drown or be killed by pressure if not rescued in time.

The bridge also has a lockable door to protect the captain from mutiny or unwanted guests. Be careful not to lock yourself out (the lock can easily be unwired if you do)!

There is also a brig where you can imprison or execute any traitors on board. Suitably this brig is located in the sharks a**hole. It is simply a chamber where the door can only be opened from the outside, trapping the captive within. You can flood the chamber via a lever which will drown the captive or cause them to die via water pressure. Note: Does not work on Husk carriers or water pranksters.

If you have any feedback please comment below, if it's within my abilites I will try and make the changes.

Rejoice, brothers! Finally got the Megalodon updated. Thank you to Joonas in the dev team, who helped me figure out why the game wouldn't upload the correct version to the workshop.

You can now enjoy the Megalodon as a Tier 1 starter ship. On my play-throughs it got me to about the 3rd sector before the hull could bare the pressure no more. But fear not! A skilled mechanic may allow you to upgrade this submarine to a Tier 2 sub, meaning it will take you much farther.

I really do hope those of you who use the ship enjoy it, if you have any feedback or suggestions please comment them below!

I have tried once again to update the megalodon, and if I was successful I will update the changelog. Otherwise the page will remain the same and I will attempt a reupload when the game hits 1.0

This is bad*ss! no need to apologize for frequent updates, it's always interesting to come back to something and see what changes. rest assured, a shark's a**hole is no place a man wants to be. wise choice.

Apologies for the frequent updates, guys! You know when you think you're done a project and every time you look at it you notice a new mistake? Yeah..

If you've started a run and want any of the new features (listed in the change notes) you will have to start a new one. Apologies.
