Essential and Recommended Mods for Euro Truck Simulator 2

A listing of essential and recommended mods with download links for Euro Truck Simulator 2.

To install mods for Euro Truck Simulator 2, you will need Win-Rar[www.win-rar.com] (free), or 7-Zip[www.7-zip.org] (free) to unzip the packages mod authors distribute their mods in.

Once a mod is downloaded, simply extract the .scs file to...

C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2\Mod

1) Start the game
2) Select "Edit" to edit the Profile of your choice
3) Activate the mod(s) by putting a check mark next to it in the right-hand column.
4) Exit the profile screen and start the game.

You should see your mods in-game immediately unless they are trailer & cargo mods which may take a few in-game days to be added to the jobs list. The best way to increase this process is to stop at a rest stop and sleep for a few days consecutively.

Essential Game Fixes

ETS2 Essential Game Fixes v3.6[forum.scssoft.com]

This mod consists of three parts:

-Essential Trailers*

*NOTE: DO NOT ENABLE "Essential Trailers" if using Painted Truck Traffic 1.x/2.x by JazzyCat. They are INCOMPATIBLE and will cause the game to not generate any deliveries in the job market screen.

Menu Interface / Game GUI

Transparent Route Adviser[forum.scssoft.com]

Removes all the superfulous GPS stuff and only leaves vital info. like fuel, speed, KM remaining, delivery time (ETA), etc. Great for those who drive trucks with built-in GPS to help minimize screen clutter.

Sewer Mod[ets2.lt]

This replaces the floating green symbols found through out the game with a man hole cover. You can still interact with them, but it raises the level of immersion ten fold without video game icons floating around in the world.

Garage Background for Menu & Upgrade Station[ets2.lt]

This mod replaces the boring, screensaver-like background with the garage backdrop in the main menu as well as when you upgrade your truck at a service station.

New Style Menu, Icons & World Map[ets2.lt]

This menu mod completely redoes the default main menu icons and interfaces and world map. It gives ETS2 a more contemporary look than ever before. Highly recommended if you are bored with the standard interface.

Transparency Widgets for Main Menu[ets2.lt]

This is a companion mod to the New Style Menu, Icons & World Map mod. This will make the on-screen menu widgets transparent and make it appear almost like Wiindows Vista, 7 and 8.

Mod Trucks

Peterbilt 389 (2006) v4.0[ets2.lt]

Probably the single, best American truck mod for ETS2. Retail quality work, IMO. Tons of tuning and just a very high quality to the entire package.

Volvo VNL 780[ets2.lt]

If you want something of a hybrid American-European truck, this is the one to get. It's officially an American truck made in Virgiina, but it fits seamlessly in with the European theme of ETS2. Another high quality, retail quality mod. Be sure to get the Sound and Engine Tuning mods that go with it for even more immersion.

GT-Mike's Scania T 730 v.1.1.0[forum.scssoft.com]

If you want strictly European trucks, this is another retail quality mod that combines the best in long-nose trucks and European cab overs in one mod.

thanks for your guide. i have one problem. i want to find a nice mod of a kenworth T100, or a Mack, Peterbuilt, White Freightliner-----all cab-overs. and i dont have the slightest idea how to find a mod after i download it.... i have tried and its lost in space along with me...hhhhhhelp!!!!
