Description
Description
Adds a few inactive highways from the game's early development (compatible with existing saves). All highways are fully functional and the AI will use them without any issues (although they may still favour the highway ring over the new routes in the middle of the map).

  • 1 Bright Promise
  • 2 Company Regard
  • 1 Faulty Logic 7
  • 1 Grand Exchange 1
  • 3 Grand Exchange 3
  • 1 Grand Exchange 4
  • 1 Memory of Profit 9
  • 1 Pontifex's Claim
  • 1 Tharka's Cascade 15
  • 2 Tharka's Cascade 17
  • 1 Unholy Retribution

Note: All credits to Egosoft who made these highway routes, all I did was implement them.

Important Note: This mod is compatible with any current and future highway mods of mine. Compatibility is not guaranteed for any other mods that add highways to the same sectors as this mod and may not work with mods that remove zones.

Not dynamically with the tools available in the game and the MD. It would be possible to have an external program that could use script outputs to write highways that you could then add to your game, a lot of this process would be manual though.

Within the functionality of the game and the scripts the best you could do is similar to the Boron Highway mission where there is a pre-made highway that you complete a mission to activate.

I confirm this still works for 7.00 beta, but need more testing as I don't know if I already visited all, the game doesn't crash though

Could you maybe readjust the highway in Bright Promise? As it is now I have to manually steer when coming from Trinity Sanctrum III as it is behind the gate. Would be appreciated.

That'd be cool if you could do a write-up if you have the time. I was fooling around with the files around a month ago but couldn't figure out how it all worked so I gave up. I'll try again with the info you provided and see if I can get it this time around, thanks!

Sorry for the late reply mate, feel free to have a look inside my mods. The general gist of how the highways are made is zone_highways.xml that represents each highway as a spline, sectors.xml which uses a highway template from zone_highways and puts in the sector. I'll look to do a full write-up at some point

I've been wanting to add a highway to my production sector and was trying to google how to do it when I found your mods.

Would you be able to give me a quick idea of how it's done? Would I be able to download one of your mods and edit the ext_01.dat myself to add one somewhere?
