DryBuildingsIndoors (Discontinued)

Description
MOD ID: 2636699427

Thank you for all the awards and positive comments. I appreciate it! Conan is going to be adding this to the base game. It appears that this mod placed a burden on the developer to fix this annoying visual detail. So this mod won't be updated to the new version when it comes out. Thank you for all the compliments again, appreciate all those who took time to notice the work modders put into this stuff. We might be worth nothing to developers but we are valued by the community.

After looking at the other mods that do the wetness disabling I find it important to mention these topics. This mod is different as it does not disable the entire wetness shader system Conan is using. That would be kind of immersion breaking to me. So that being said this mod does the following things.

  • THIS MOD DISABLES THE RAIN EFFECTS INSIDE BUILDINGS ONLY. THE RAIN WILL NO LONGER GET THE CHARACTER OR FLOORS WET ANY LONGER WHILE INSIDE A BUILDING.
  • THE OUTDOORS WILL STILL GET YOU WET AND THE WETNESS STILL APPLIES TO THE GROUND IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A ROOF ABOVE YOUR HEAD.
  • IF YOU ARE INSIDE OF A BUILDING THERE WILL BE NO WETNESS APPLIED TO YOUR CHARACTER OR THE FLOOR YOU STAND ON. IF IT HAS A ROOF OR CEILING TILE OVER IT THERE WILL BE NO WETNESS SHADER APPLIED TO THAT TILE.
  • THERE IS NOTHING YOU HAVE TO DO. THE MOD JUST WORKS. JUST INSTALL IT AND IT WILL WORK.

It doesn't change anything about the rain, or the base game files. All logic is controlled in the mod controller so it will not conflict with another mod unless they change the shaders in any way.

This mod can be safely added or removed at any time without risk of any harm to server. Adding or removing this mod is not harmful in any way.

This mod may or may not work with other maps, I have yet to test it. If you find it does work with another map post in the comments and I will add it to the description.

This mod works in singleplayer and dedicated server.

I made this at the request of someone.

*****I don't mod for Conan anymore so this won't be updated but I think they fixed rain, I don't know I do not play anymore.

Thats a breath of fresh air. How annoying it is to be inside and still getting rained on.

Funcom's fix still rains in the house with slanted ceilings/stormglass etc... :steamfacepalm: I miss your mod. It worked soooo well. :heart_emo:

Yup, it still rains indoors for me as well, as of Jan 5 2323. (The mod stops it from happening though) I tested it in flotsam and reinforced stone, as well as the turanian DLC and a modded structure. In all cases the visual effect of rain was still passing through the structure as though it was not there, and in all cases your mod stopped it. (I did not note whether or not the wet effect was applied or not, just the visual effect. )

@FluxMaster No, they have not. Quite frankly your work was far more polished than the end result we officially got from Funcom. As stated before, they simply removed the wetness effect while doing nothing about the raindrops still going through the roof every now and then. Cant really describe it either, sometimes its a few drops here and there, sometimes its a drizzle, there's really no consistency to how anything breaks in this game.

The rain issues in Conan still haven't been fixed?
