YAK-36

Description
Yak-36 - the first Soviet VTOL aircraft. It made its first flight in 1964, the first vertical takeoff in 1966. The main function is a carrier-based attack aircraft. A total of 4 prototypes were built. Was never released as mass production aircraft because of poor range and load capacity, which was common problem for any VTOL even modern days.
The technical solutions worked out on the Yak-36 formed the basis for the more advanced serial Yak-38.
In my opinion, one of the most brutal and at the same time elegant aircraft.

I tried to summarize all the information both from the operation manual and from the memoirs of designers and pilots, and implement the model as close to reality as possible.
In general, what we have:
- simulation of engines and their support - fuel, oil, startup stuff, single engine flight, etc.
- failures of engines and related systems
- gauges failures
- failures of electrical systems
- icing and combating it, failures of the corresponding systems and devices
- landing gear failures
- weather affect on devices and engines
- automatic control system, jet rudders and failures of all this
- CK-3M automatic ejection system

In total, about 60 different breakdowns are possible.

Restrictions:
Exhaust temperature - up to 750 at startup, in flight up to 840 unlimited, up to 880 for 2 minutes.
Oil temperature - up to 120
Oil pressure - from 3 to 5 bar in flight
The pressure in the hydraulic system 130 to 150 bar. The hydraulic system is needed to operate the landing gear, control surfaces, nozzle position and control of the jet rudder system.
There is a backup air system powered by an emergency Tank. Tank recharge - electrical connector in the center landing gear bay.
Fuel pressure - 90-95 bar
Voltage AC - 115 V, DC - 24-28 V. DC supplies the main systems, such as ignition and fuel pumps, AC supplies avionics equipment, gauges and some additional systems.

The instruction prohibits:
- switch from vertical mode to horizontal mode or vice versa without activated autopilot / altitude hold mode
- fly in vertical mode with the CK-3M automatic ejection system turned off

When overspeeding with the landing gear extended, they can jam in the current position and cannot be repaired without landing. If any of the chassis fails for other reasons,
there is a chance it can be released using the emergency landing gear release switch.

The maximum speed under ideal conditions is about 565 km / h. Stall speed is about - 150 km / h.
At speeds up to 300 km / h, the aircraft is poorly controlled, as it should be. Management as a whole is quite difficult, but it is like an experimental Soviet VTOL aircraft of the 60s. You have to be very optimistic
to expect simple and convenient operation from it.

Unstable engine operation means either an oil or fuel problem.
Unstable oil pressure means oil leakage.
Low fuel pressure means either a leak, or pump failure, or fuel freezing in the filters.
An oil or fuel leak is highly likely to cause an engine fire. An indirect sign of leaks is an increase in exhaust temperature.
Airplane icing is possible in case of rain / snow / fog and temperatures below 0. Icing of pitot tubes leads to incorrect operation of the altimeter, airspeed indicator and variometer.
Icing the intake of engines leads to a loss of power and possibly to a flameout.
Freezing of fuel is possible at subzero temperatures. (Obviously, we are talking about the freezing of water in the fuel, and not the fuel itself)
Failures of the engine or its systems are not always obvious and in any case usually lead to flying on one engine.
Air temperature significantly affects engine power and exhaust temperature. Vertical take-off in hot weather is very difficult, and, on the contrary, is easy and pleasant in the Arctic.
Due to the limitations of the game, it is impossible to make true two engines and implement the rotary nozzles in the original airplane dimensions, so we had to emulate the control of two engines.
The autopilot may not work correctly when flying with one engine. Vertical mode on one engine is not possible! Engine failure in hover mode allows you to get a closer look at the automatic catapult.

In the main landing gear bay, there are switches for realistic atmospheric pressure and chicken switch.

There is no time to write a complete guide, unfortunately, there is too much to describe. Testing also takes a very long time, hundreds and hundreds of launches, so if you suddenly find a bug - let me know. Good luck.

A quick guide to launch, takeoff and landing in this video: https://youtu.be/DCvzR3Rsro0

Almost forgot. Weapons DLC releases soon, so here you go not having any armament on this craft. It had only mockup weapons, so you`re not getting any. Probably.

Now I can say that I have mastered flying. By the way, what does the chicken switch do?

yep. and you have to spend hours to fix their mess, in every creation you`ve made.

Yeah, i hate it too when they break some stuff and it isnt like they make it better.

it`s broken by devs, unfortunaley. so I`m not building any VTOLs yet, until they fix stupid jet engines exhaust.

i think this a master piece for realism, working avionics and eject system... What do you think about building a Harrier or another fighter plane similar to this?
