This mod is compatible with X4 version 6.x

This mod is currently only continued on Nexus by "ace91134 & Rothank" due to Simon's hiatus.

-due to docking capacity rebalance: players who have savegames with S ships loaded into modded ships are advised to load the savegame in 5.10 with the previous version of the mod, undock the ships, save, updated the game and TC mod to 6.0 and load the game then. Otherwise the ships will be lost/stuck. Miyagi and Akita are exceptions to this (they retained 40 docking capacity).


This mod aims to add a new class of ships to the game - cruisers. Cruisers are meant to provide the player with a middle-ground between destroyers and battleships. They are fast and durable but lack the powerful forward weaponry of other L and XL ships, instead relying on large turrets. They have decent S ships docking capabilities and a large crew component which makes them competent at boarding and mining protection operations.

NOTES:
-AI factions should now be able to build some of the ships and employ them in their fleets.
-Player can buy the ships at the terran shipyards and the ship's blueprint at the faction representative.
-The ships were tested for vanillia game only. Might be unbalanced/underpowered for heavily modded games.
-I plan on adding several ships for each faction in this mod, starting with Terran Protectorate and the Segaris Pioneers.

WHAT IS PLANNED:
-Cruisers and carriers for the other factions. The exact composition will be shaped by balancing needs, but an average of 3 per major faction is planned. Some ships will be used by the faction AI and some will be player-owned only due to necessities of game balance.

I am giving a general permission, for anyone, to use, modify, use parts of, and publish any 3d meshes I made for this mod in their personal, non-comercial, mod projects for X4, or any other existing or future game made by Egosoft, through steam or otherwise. My only requirement is that appropriate credits are provided. This permission can be used automatically, and there is no need to consult me, unless for reasons going beyond the scope of what is described above. I envision this mod as a personal project meant to give free, additional content to the X-Universe community and this is the spirit in which the above permission is given. It applies to any 3d meshes, made prior or in the future, that are published under this steam mod page.

pardon me, is there another site to find mods? If steam can't work for some modders, and I'm also avoiding nexus, is there another option? Cheers to everyone and thank yall for the works.

@Boshty It wasn't moved to Nexus on a whim, the actual author put this project on hold here in Steam. Rothank and I took it over. Unfortunately, we don't have permission to update this mod here on Steam. I can't even publish my own mods here. STEAM is something of its own when it comes to uploading mods outside of America. That's why it's only available on Nexus.

And it will also soon be updated to the current version of X4 7.50 with flight model update...

I reeeally wish this wasn't moved to Nexus, it was convenient with it being on the workshop. But I cannot complain at least it wasn't completely removed all around!

@Austin (Hammerbite) that was actually the biggest thing we tested specifically myself the Xenon can def hold their own unless you spam ships out but at that point not much will stand up against that

Do you think this breaks the game balance? I dont think the Xenon can stand a chance against those cruisers?
