The helmet is part of the body mesh so I'm not able to separate them myself
I don't know the technical details of how to do this, but you can always just have the "entire model" be the body torso armor.
Several other cosmetic mods on the workshop do this, such as the ghost in the shell "Section 9 special operators" mod and the helghast costume from the killzone franchise.
The different model makes him much easier to point out from others, and looks way more appropriate to what he does than the priest outfit.
I also like how he's now a "Cryo Trooper" instead of a "Cryo Priest." I played with a mod that gives anti-violet rounds, which really hurt psionics like ADVENT Priests. They, however, don't work against Cryo Priests, who are not actually psionic - which makes you wonder, why call him a "Priest" at all?
Much better. A small change, but still much better.
