Concept: The original concept for the Anchored Roost was a base that was compatible with parking the early draft of the Carri-On SV, back before CPU was part of the game and the Carri-On SV was going to be a flying brick the size of a small CV. When the Carri-On evolved into a series of smaller cargo containers, I dropped the Anchored Roost from any further development until I found I wanted a parking rack for the M1 and M2 modules. Even though they were not finished or published, I had already started using the Fairywren and M2 modules in survival. While I was pleased with the modules and the CV, I found that I wanted somewhere I could park the modules when I wanted to unburden the Fairywren. I could just park the modules on the ground on a peaceful world before going to a high gravity, hostile world, which I did, but there were times that I thought it would be nice to have a place to switch out the modules.

When I looked at my bases, well, the M2 factory module had 8 constructors, so I decided that perhaps the Anchored Roost ought to be redesigned from the ground up. Both to hold up to 4 modules as well as fulfilling the one basic processing function that the modules could not, furnaces. Since I would be allowing either the M1 or the M2 modules to be parked on this base, this should use some sort of parking solution where modules would be stacked above one another, a complete contrast to the Frontier Perch which is not compatible with the M2 due to its exact fit parking solution..

Lore: During field testing of the Fairywren and the M2 series of modules, MBI engineers were notified by the field team that there would be a need for a base capable of storing multiple M2 modules. While the original calculations were correct that such a dedicated facility was not necessary, it was determined that releasing the Fairywren and M2 modules to market would create a niche for such a base. By making the Anchored Roost compatible with the M1 modules, this blueprint was brought to market even before the Fairywren or the M2 modules. Sold under the FTB brand.
