Packed Sand and Dirt

Description
This mod allows you to tame sand and soil by packing them down into recognizable paths. As well as preventing unwanted flora from growing on your paths, it decreases the pathcost by 1 (+5% move speed).

For the sand, the paths also do not allow kicking sand (the "Sand in Eyes" debuff when two pawns are fighting upon sand).

Mod support
  • If you already have a mod that adds packed dirt (like some sort of terraforming mod), this mod should detect this and skip patching this part in.
  • Alternative texture for Toony Terrain Textures is used if detected.

Uninstalling
If you want to remove this mod mid-game, you may want to use the Remove Floor tool first for the sandy paths. If you do not, the paths will turn into dirt (instead of sand).

Quick note: there's a soft & benign incompatibility with Fertile Fields, which can be exploited to create dirt at no cost.

In details, the terraforming tool of FF allows recovering dirt from packed dirt tiles, even if those were laid on terrain that didn't originally contain dirt, such as stony soil.
It's a very minor issue, but worth mentioning for people playing on harsh biomes where proper soil is scarce or nonexistent. It can nullify the hunt for soil ingredients (most notably fertilizer).

Cherry Picker can disallow specific FF terraforming actions, but FF also has a generic, dynamic terraforming tool that I believe cannot be turned off without disabling terraforming entirely.

@Maoman You can use Smart Farming for planting trees in rows, if you're fine with it looking less natural.
